Liked: Beatiful location, original hostel at the style USSR. This hostel is for younth without any rules, and very active life at the night.

Disliked: When i had arrived to hostel at 10.30 PM, was problem with reseravation. At the receprtion said thet my reservetion had been availaable only to 8 PM. But about this rule wasn't written anywhere- at the describe of hostel, at the site of Hostelbookers anywhere. And from me and my friend wanted that I paid 25 euro, not 21 as a reservation. This is wery bad. I thought, that I would be at he airport. But later at the receptaion accepted my reseravation. Very original shower room at the style of USSR, but not Europe. Brekfast including only 2 croissant and coffe from automat.

Liked: The location is good. Although the price was high, it was still cheaper than any other place in Paris at the time.

Disliked: I had to sleep on a broken bed that was laid on the floor. The breakfast is terrible - don't even bother with it.

Liked: Nothing.... pretty much just a good location with easy access to metro.

Disliked: They were not helpful at all, and not willing to answer questions. Not worth the money.... I am sure for this price you can find a more decent hostel.

Liked: I can honestly say I liked nothing about this place.

Disliked: overpriced Internet and NO WiFi terrible breakfast Attitude of staff only 1 key per room (you have to wake people up to get in) terrible beds and mattresses dirty toilets and showers This hostel should not be on any reputable hosteling site.

Liked: The bed it's very confortable. And the bathroom it's not that bad. It's near to Gare de Lyon, but the location it's not so good. There is only one person there that it's friendly, the guy who stay at night.

Disliked: Pretty much everything. They don't have WiFi, you can use their computers but have to pay. You pay for the towels and the sheet if you don't have. Has the worst breakfast in the world, they give you coins and you catch in the machine, and it's like only 3 coins, if you want more they will be complaining. It's not clean at all. The first floor bathroom is disgusting! They change the hours everytime, in some place it's saying something in other is other thing. I was really disapointed.

Liked: Great location, right next to Gare de Lyon so very easy to get to anything in the city. Also 5-10min walk from the Seine and Jardin de Plantes. It was also good that the dorm rooms have 3 beds, so you're not sharing with too many people.

Disliked: The facilities and services are terrible. The free breakfast is really bad, two small shrivelled tasteless croissant that you get out of a vending machine. There is no kitchen to make your own food, so you have to buy every single meal out. There is no common area to meet people or relax. There is no free internet access, you have to pay 6 euro for an hour of really slow internet on one of their old computers. There is no wifi to connect to. Each dorm room only has one key card, so if someone else already has the card in the room, the only way you can get in is to knock till they let you in. This means either waking up others, or having to wake up yourself to let people in. The showers were filthy and really small, and there is no sink at the toilets, you have to go into your room and use the sink there. Also, they won't let you check in after 8pm, so some girls who arrived late were stranded in the city with nowhere to stay as they had given their roomsa away.

Liked: The hostel is fine, the staff are not.

Disliked: Our booking was made and we received an email stating they did not take bookings after 8 pm- even though it says 11 pm in the terms and conditions. So we changed our train to be there before 8 and sent three emails stating our new arrival time to we finally got a reply 'it ok'. However when we turned up they had no recollection of the booking or the emails and made us pay in full even though we had proof of having paid Hostelbookers deposit- not their problem and weren't interested in discussing it. Impossible to deal with and VERY rude.

Liked: The location

Disliked: the bed was bad, you have to pay extra for betshiets, and you get only one, if you want two, you have to pay again. The breakfast comes from a machine, and it is really bad. The people that attend the place are not nice. The shower is not clean. They don´t allow to pay all days at ones, you have to pay avery day before 9:30 for your next day.

Liked: It was fairly cheap and decently clean.

Disliked: The facilities are pretty bad. The rooms come with a bathroom, but they don't even give you a proper door; the only privacy for the room's bathroom is a restaurant-like swinging kitchen door. The breakfasts are a joke, you get three special coins to spend on croissants and hot coffee/chocolate from a vending machine. Although the hostel is close to the Gare de Lyon, it is not close to many landmarks, and is a decent walk away from everything, unless you spend money on a train.

Liked: Good location.

Disliked: The beds. Not having access to the hostel during the Day. Only One key even though you didnt know your roommates. The showers where weak and cold. very thin walls. The floor was kroken and läsning. The staff didnt know english.

Liked: nothing

Disliked: everything: water taps in the showers were temporized. no place to put or hang your towel or clothes. shower was just a bottom-line disaster. I had seen no worse in my life. (and I've seen pretty horrible showers) no linens on the bed, you must have your own or pay them for new ones, and the beds are not very clean. staff seemed hostile and often rude to me. no help with the sights. the only piece of giveaway they had was a general purpose map. no elevator. squeaky wooden stairs. old building. crappy breakfast. NO INTERNET. Only one (or sometimes two) key(s) for a room of four or more people.

Liked: the location

Disliked: We just seemed to be a problem to the staff. they were not friendly at all and were not willing to help with anything we requested. In my eyes, a comfortable stay would mean, more than 1 shower and toilet per floor, and also an elevator. we were on the 4th floor and had to walk up steps the too many times. Cold showers are also not "comfortable" i think that some of the staff need to also make an effort to speak english.

Liked: It was very well located near the train station and on one of the main metro lines. The staff were freindly and very helpful when i asked any questions.

Disliked: The hostel wasnt the cleanest place in the world but it was habital and it good just to have somewhere to sleep. The fact hosel closes between 11am to 3pm for cleaning so it means if you have had a late night you cant sleep in. Overall my stay was good and i would stay here again as it is very cheap accomdation in Paris

Liked: Very near Gare de Lyon, which makes travelling around by metro/trains very easy.

Disliked: Was unlucky and got a room on the 5th floor and the hostel has no elevator. Also shower aren't really good, not to mention only 1 shower on each floor.

Liked: The bed bugs, the other insects, the rudness, the lock out time,

Disliked: I am dissapointed and upset. My stay in the Hostel Blue Planet in Paris on the 17. 07.11 was a extremly negative experience. Lots have been already expressed on the review section, so I do not repeat it. My point is, that this hostel does absolutely not meet the hygienic standards of a western european country. Some rooms seem clean at first impression. However, they do have bed bugs and lots of other insects in hidden spots. I was ending up with itching bites all over my body. I doubt that this hostel would pass an official hygienic inspection. I booked often with hostelbooker without having any previous issues . This hostel though should not been given a Platform such as Hostelbooker or hostelworld to promote itself. Paris will always be so busy that even the last Hostel on the list with the lowest reviews will eventually fill up. To protect tourists from such hygienic conditions Hostel Blue Planet has to be banned or meet the hygienic standarts. I will also send an e-mail to french officials. Hopefully the conditions there can be altered. I booked for two nights but threw in the towel after my first night!
