Liked: The location was AMAZING, can not describe how much I feel in love with Montmartre. We were in a 6 bed dorm with a window on the street, which was really nice. The rooms were cleaned everyday. The location made up for all the negatives, it was stunning.

Disliked: Socially Woodstock was lacking. They have a tiny courtyard that is closed at 10 (in summer it doesnt get dark till around 10:30-11) which meant on a beautiful summers night we were moved inside and then the inside area closes at 2. So again I would say socially it's bellow average. Staff were nice enough just not very helpful, they didn't give a run through of how the hostel worked (we were not even aware we had a kitchen until the second day, when breakfast was or that dorms are CLOSED from 11-3)

Disliked: Girls share rooms with guys, wifi didn't work well, though it was free.

Liked: Good location and getting a free breakfast, even though it was very limited, is always a bonus.

Disliked: The most cramped hostel i have ever been in, 6 beds in a tiny room and the toilets were outside!

Liked: for the money, it was clean. and it wasnt far from the metro stop.

Disliked: the property was difficult to find since there is no sign outside to mark it. make sure you have the address written down so you can find where you are staying! the staff was outwardly rude. when i checked in, the guy openly made fun of my name, and was not willing to answer any questions.

Liked: The usual eclectic bunch of fellow travellers.

Disliked: Cleanliness. Gallic nonchalance of a certain staff member. Scaffolding on the facade of building for a non-essential maintenance job, which should have been done in the low season. Narrow winding uneven staircase served as only route in and out, which felt unsafe in the event of an emergency.

Liked: Well decorated and located.

Disliked: The breakfast was from 8 until 9.30--hours were too early and too short. Nothing new is put out after 9.15 so breakfast really ends then. There was a lockout from 11 until 15. It's 2011. Hostels still do that? One day the cleaner showed up early so we had to leave at 10.30. Terrible place to meet people unless you like 20 year old Americans--nothing wrong with them but little diversity.

Liked: Cool atmosphere. Close to Sacre Coeur and the party area of Paris.

Disliked: Really far from the center of Paris. Very cramped rooms, and gross showers.

Disliked: rushed breakfast. pay for sheets. ONE bathroom per floor, and no sink in the bathroom....it was a struggle to get ready in the morning. not to mention washing your hands after going to the washroom is awkward :(

Liked: The paint job was awesome and it's pretty close to the metro station which is really convienient for backpackers.

Disliked: I didn't like the fact that there was only one toilet and shower per floor. There were 3 floors in the place and each floor had like 3 rooms with about 6 beds each. So ther bathrooms were always occupied.

Liked: A very nice place with a lot of young people, good breakfast and nice atmosphere.

Disliked: All of the staff were so nice except from one woman who was so unfriendly to us. She really didn't do anything to help us and she kind of ignored one when you tried to ask her. She shouldn't be working a place like that - she really ruined our mood the first day.

Liked: At a first glance it might seem pricey for 25~27 euros a night for the budget backpacker, but a free breakfast, amazing location in the party district of Paris, and the helpfulness of the staff is unparalleled. The breakfast includes fresh croissants and rolls, coffee and tea, and cereal. Not overindulgent, but a perfect meal for a hangover. :) The free computers are good, but some are outdated in software and can't be upgraded as a guest.

Disliked: The bed sheets were not cleaned regularly, and some had a bit of a stench. The rooms were cleaned quickly without much enthusiasm. Clean, yes. Spotless, no. The internet is slow and sometimes doesn't work.

Liked: the decor is really nice and different and the location is great.

Disliked: the rooms were very cramped compared to other hostels and there are a lot of people sharing one toilet. it's also really annoying that there's no realy communal area that stays open late as it makes meeting new people less easy. lockers in the room would be a real plus as well.

Liked: It is very easy to get from-to the airport using the subways conecting from-to anvers station. The area of montmarte is probably the coolest in Paris. The attention of the receptionists is remarkable and the breakfast is the same as you get in a 4 star hotel.

Disliked: The showers were tooooooooo small!!!! But the hostel is not to blame, it was because of the typical french architecture

Liked: There was free wifi, though sometimes it worked very slow. Close to the subway. I met some cool people there.

Disliked: There are quarky rules. The staff did not provide any advise on activities. There are no lockers. The showers outside. The bathrooms outside w/out a sink. The room I was in was right by the courtyard and it is very loud starting at 7 a.m. The room was musty and the beds were loud. There was no window in the room to let in fresh air. The lockout period from 11:00-3:00.

Liked: (already) the cheapest in Paris

Disliked: Too distant from the city centre. You must take the metro in order to get there. Expect it only as a place to stay overnight. The room was packed, noisy (due to the traffic outside) and just too simple. There are no lockers and far too few power sockets.

Liked: When I came there in the evening there where people talking aloud in the garden just in front of our room and I thought maybe I couldn't sleep in the end after long day in Paris. Eventually, they went to bar and garden was closed at 22.00 so no problems with sleeping!

Disliked: Beds are quite old and especially it is difficult to climb for the upper bed. Any movements will shake both beds. Not so serious thing if both are sleeping.
