Liked: Awesome common area with bar and internet, good kitchen. Loads of information on places to visit and things to do. Staff really friendly and helpful. Easy to meet people

Disliked: squeeky doors in the big girls dorm.

Liked: Just a tremendous hostel. Certainly one of the best in France. Wonderful activities and a genuinely pro-tourist atmosphere. Great for backpackers and expats alike. Great to meet people, great to party, great to relax.

Disliked: Slightly out of the way. Do yourself a favour, make use of their shuttle service

Liked: The bar and restaurant area was fantastic. The 1 Euro beers were fantastic value and also quite good. I didn't eat the food at the restaurant but my friends told said it was very good. Also the self-catering kitchen area was very useful, clean, relaxed and well equipped. We spent a few nights at the bar and met a lot of great people who we went on to hang out with a lot more and it was just a blast. Also the rooms were great and it was easy to get into town. Free wifi in the bar and restaurant area was also very useful. There's a lot of good things to be said about this place.

Disliked: You can't use ovens in the self-catering kitchen area, as they are being used by the cooks at the restaurant (you can only use hobs), though it's not too much of a problem.

Liked: Great place to meet other travellers. Great facilities...all you can eat brekkie and internet access. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: I wasnt able to sleep properly most nights due to the noise coming from the bar ..and i met other guests who said the same thing. My dorm wasnt well ventilated either as youre not allowed to open the windows.

Liked: Excellent food available from the kitchen, so don't need to cook... Fun lively bar was good for meeting people. Good gardens for relaxing in. Distance from central Nice is far but it is easy to get to the Hostel on the tram for one euro and the Hostel run a free minibus shuttle service every few minutes from the tram stop to the hostel. Good staff.

Disliked: The hostel have a policy that means you cant use the Gardens after 10pm at night.

Liked: This place was wonderful, I had a great bar, and dinner service, free coffee and tea all day, the rooms were clean people were friendly. Wonderful outdoor sitting/hang out, the common room was really nice. This was just a lovely place to be. The shuttle up/down, especially up, the steep hill it is on.

Disliked: it was up a really long hill, and we didn't know about the shuttle until we got to the Villa

Liked: nature all around, outside facilities ( nice garden...) and very pleasant staff

Disliked: I'm 59 years old and it was a little bit too noisy for me , music + everybo talking( mostly young people of course)but i still reommand it. Breakfast music was wonderfull, very peacefull ....

Liked: I liked everything about this hostel. The staff was all very friendly, and you got the biggest bang for your buck here. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat so meeting other travelers was quite easy. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Disliked: Only thing I really didn't like was the location. It was a bit far away from the center of town if you were to walk. With that being said, V.S.E. made it very easy on travelers by having a free shuttle stop at one of the tram stops.

Liked: If you made a list of every possible amenity and convenience a traveller could require, the Villa supercedes that. The location will be the very least of your worries (and there is a reliable shuttle, for which staff will makes exceptions to drive outside the allotted time). Never in my two months of backpacking have I been treated so respectfully and so kind. I extended my stay from 3 days to two weeks because it was so relaxing and comfortable. The staff is like a big family, all doing a plethora of jobs (its not uncommon to see the front desk receptionist from the night before driving the tram, or doing the dishes, or landscaping), and you can see they really care about their jobs and the people staying there. They are ALWAYS working and there's always someone around to help. Very accomodating, and extremely knowledgeable. I would love that job, too: its an excellent atmosphere/ A ridiculously low price for what is offered. PLEASE don't look further no other hostel will be nearly as great as this one.

Disliked: I have nothing bad to say. My room mate snored :)

Liked: The atmosphere is very nice. The beer is very cheap. In there have the officer to give you a traveling information and free internet in the bar.

Disliked: The location is a bit far from the down town. It's far from the train station and extremely far from the air port. So please, avoid for the early trip.

Liked: breakfast and friendliness of staff

Disliked: location was bad/ though staff was friendly, they were not helpful at all. they weren't organized at all and usually one person was in charge of everything, which made check-in and other things take so long a time

Liked: The location was a little out of the way but nothing major since the staff run shuttles whenever you need and you can catch the tram really easily to the beach and more central locations. And even if the shuttle isn't running its only a ten minute walk from he tram stop to the hostel. The staff are all really friendly and always around to offer you help or advice for your sight seeing. The rooms were nice and we had an AMAZING view over the city and mountains. The meals offered for dinner are really cheap and delicious.

Disliked: There wasn't a lot of hot water, my showers were usually virtually cold. One of the beds in our room wasn't cleaned properly-we think they forgot to change the sheets accidentally but I think this was an honest mistake as other than that the place was beautifully clean. The breakfast was limited, just toast and cereal. But hey, it was free. All the negatives are tiny particularly compared to all the potives!

Liked: Absolutely awesome place. Best hostel I've been to so far in Europe. Not only a nice place, but a great place to meet people and have fun.

Disliked: A little far from the city center, but they made up for it with a shuttle to the tram stop.

Liked: The property was set in beautiful gardens, the staff were really friendly and did all they could to ensure you had a great stay in nice, with suggestions of day trips and beaches ect. that you could go to!! There is a really big kitchen with enough facilities for everybody to use and the food from the restaurant is good too!! there is free internet and wifi!! :) the bar and food is really cheap so its perfect for back packers.

Disliked: the only thing that lets the place down is the location but the staff do everything they can to make it easier for you to get to and from the main attractions of nice by doing a shuttle bus run every 15 mins!! :)
