Liked: Fantastic fun atmosphere - a great place to meet other travellers. They have a fantastic bar and they put on parties, have cheap nightly meals that are really good as well as happy hour with really cheap beer and wine. They also put on excursions such as canyoning for a really good price which is great for the more adventurous travellers. Computers are available to use for free! Free shuttle service down the hill to the tram which you catch to the beach - fantastic!

Disliked: Because it is in an old monastry the rooms are not that modern and nice as some of the other hostels I stayed at - but the bathroom facilities are great and much more modern, and the atmosphere and social areas & activities far outweigh this.

Liked: Great place to meet other like-minded people, great bar, cheap trams, good free breakfast, lovely common room, free internet... overall = excellent :)

Disliked: Average (bordering on very small) rooms, bit far from beach/ center of Nice (BUT super-frequent hostel-run shuttle service to the (cheap- 1 euro) Nice tram... so overall not too negative) Would def still recommend :)

Liked: Free internet, tea/coffee and good inclusive breakfast. Really lively atmosphere and lots of young travellers. The staff were really helpful aswell.

Liked: Very nice place: full of character, full of people, staff were friendly and helpful, excellent English speakers.

Disliked: It's not directly by public transportation, but there is a free shuttle the hostel runs to and from the tram line.

Liked: We liked the full self catering kitchen, book exchange, 1 euro beers and free wifi when it was working (there was a lot of issues with this dropping out). Unfortunately our room was not at as great standard as we have previously experienced at this hostel. Room 008 had no window for a 4 bed share dorm, no aircon or fan, the renovations(?) seem unfinished ie no individual bed lights just wires out of the wall, there were no room lockers just a waste of space chest of draws and the mattress I slept on was mouldy. This was a disappointing stay after our wonderful experience in 2007 at this same hostel.

Liked: This hostel is VERY thing they say it is and more. Although it is a little far away from the train station, there is a tram that drops you off a one stop and then the hostel crew picks you up in a shuttle right were the tram drops you off. The hostel is on a big hill that has a beautiful view. AMAZING FOOD!!!! You can eat, drink, and hang out all night at the hostel its a ton of fun! Beer is only 1 euro which is so cheap! They also offer fun trips like sailing to St. Tropez or snorkeling. Its really a great place to stay!

Disliked: If you arent looking for a hostel that likes to party it can be a little loud. But other than that its great!

Liked: Huge bank of free computers, which was great!! Staff was very helpful

Disliked: No Air Conditioning. They shouldn't advertise someting if they only have it in the common areas. The shuttle to the tram stop doesn't run between noon and 5pm, you feel like you're trapped on a hill/island. The pictures make it look like it's close to the beach, and it's about a half hour shuttle then tram ride away.

Liked: Awesome atmosphere. Most of the staff a very friendly and definitely helpful. Pretty much never met any of them that didn't bend over backwards to accommodate even though they were stretched. The bar is definitely a social scene where you can have fun drinking $1 beers all night.

Disliked: Kinda far. No air conditioning in my second room.

Liked: Out of 10 weeks of travelling, this was the best hostel we stayed in. They've really though it through and have provided everything you need to have an awesome time.

Liked: The hostel was lively and friendly with excellent facilities and the staff were very helpful. Also, the evening hostel meals were amazing and very good value for money.

Liked: We really enjoyed the canyoning excursion! and the kitchen

Disliked: We stayed 5 nights and barely slept. I thought it was obnoxious sharing a room with 12 other girls, right next to the front door where everyone hangs out, and with the other door backed right up to the bar.

Liked: Great place to stay and have a beer. Cheap drinks, food and activities. Only drawback is it is a bit outa town although its only 5 minutes on the tram to the beach

Liked: pick up shuttle from tram station was great when we had all of our bags. the showers were really really good. we booked into a 13 bed dorm but were in a 5 bed dorm for the same price that was great. staff didnt have a key for us until about 6 hrs after we checked in but the doors to the rooms are never really locked anyway. lots of aussies worked there, everything was in english.

Liked: Friendly staff, fun bar and free internet! Good, cheap dinners and cheap drinks. On the downside, the floor I stayed at had only one toilet for the whole floor. It was always full, had a bad smell and never had toilet paper. Showers weren't great either. Otherwise, a nice place. Worth the expense? Still not sure.

Liked: people are so noisy in the bar so it's not a good place for people who like quiet. And the location is not good, it's not convient to go to the beach although they have shuttlebus take you to the tram stop. But the staffs are friendly and ficilities are ok.

Liked: Whilst in principle this hostel looks to have it all, I found the experience fake and overwhelmingly american. I don't think I heard one single word of French whilst staying here - granted if you're not looking for the genuine French experience and just want to meet other like minded American travellers then this place is perfect - otherwise I would recommend cheaper places closer to the town centre that allow a better introduction to a more genuine nicois ambience.
