Liked: Massive room with private bathroom and decent shower with plenty of hot water - a little like having your own studio apartment maybe. Felt very secure and was quiet. Good value for money in an expensive city. Would stay again.

Disliked: Room was hot - not so bothered about not having air-con but the window didn't open very much.

Liked: The hostel is close to a tram stop that takes you into the city within a few minutes. I also liked that you can cook in you room espceially because Finnland is quit expensive... The room was really spacious! Sauna and Pool are also a big plus!!!

Liked: It was not easy to find but the directions on the website were accurate on how to get there. I ran into two other people going there on the tram and that is how I found it. The street signs in Helsinki are on the sides of the buildings mostly and are not always easy to see. The reception staff were totally helpful and suggested the right bus platform for me to use to reach Porvoo on a day trip. The location is great. A few blocks from Kamppi with the restaurants and bars and trams and the bus station. The room and bathroom were clean and well equipped. My single room had a fridge and a stove and was very spacious for one person. I was too busy sightseeing to use the sauna although I wish I had. The building was card access and I did feel safe there but remained watchful as it is in an urban area. Great value for the money for the location. There are several buildings associated with this hostel, which is initially confusing but I got the hang of it after the first day. I appreciated the Wifi in the hostel lounge as well. There were people of all ages there, although there were a lot of young people. I enjoyed my stay and would return there if I ever got back to Helsinki.

Disliked: Nothing. For the price, it was great.

Liked: Most beautiful front desk in the world. Lovely girls always ready and glad to help. Hotel-like room for a hostel-like price. Small kitchen in the bedroom (stove, fridge, dishes, cutlery). It is a big hostel, composed of several buildings, so you may have to walk some 150 metres to reach the reception (like I did), but that's actually not a bad thing at all for me.

Disliked: There is a lounge room where the computers are, with heaps of chairs and board games and all that, but I didn't feel that comfortable vibe that allows you to meet new people and socialize. But it may have been only on that occasion, I don't know.

Liked: It's very easy to get to as there is a Metro station nearby. There are also some shops and small supermarket nearby for buying food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms have stoves and fridges so you can prepare your own meals. They are more than the usual hostel rooms - more like a little appartment. There is a central lounge and kitchen which you can use, also free WiFi in this area.

Disliked: If you arrive when there are a lot of people checking in and this seems to happen often, you will wait long to be helped, as there is usually only 2 people at the reception. Our room had no windows, only a door (besides the one opening into the room) opening onto a very noisy street. It was very hot and stuffy in the room, so we had to sleep with this door open which was not pleasant.

Liked: everything l was excellent ,environment,location, price and staff were very good. I really stay in the same hostel in my next visit to Helsinki and recommend strongly to all my friends.

Liked: The 3-bed dorm that I slept in was spacious and clean and had a fine bathroom and kitchen.

Disliked: The description of how to get to the hostel on their website was fine, still it was a bit difficult to find because of lacking road signs (not their fault, but they might improve the description accordingly). If you book directly from the hostels website and you plan to check in late they ask you to provide all your credit card details. I didn't feel that was safe so instead I booked from hostelbookers.com, and that worked without any problems.

Liked: Really friendly staff - they always greet you with a smile and they are always looking to help. The rooms are very clean and most have ensuite bathrooms. They also have their own little kitchenettes with sink and hobs.

Disliked: The place is massive - several huge blocks. It makes it feel a little institutional and isn't necessarily the best hostel for meeting new people.

Liked: We liked how friendly the staff were, and how easy it was to get to the centre. We also liked how there was always internet available and a kitchen to cook. There were many amenities in the room, so this was very useful.

Disliked: We disliked that men had the opportunity to use the sauna from 10am to 11:30am where women had to resort to using it earlier. Many of us aren't early birds! Sometimes they wouldn't always doing an ID check when we're asking for the key to our room but they would in the middle of the night when we come home.

Liked: It's location was really close i could just walk into the city and the staff were very helpful in recommending what to see and do in helsinki

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were sad we couldn't stay for the sauna in the morning as we had to leave early, as that sounded wonderful. The twin rooms are fabulous, very large with great facilities and excellent bathrooms. Very happy with the internet room and wi-fi availability, and also the ability to print out pages and pick them up at reception. The location is very good, not right in town, but close enough to walk and in a quiet and safe area. Would highly recommend!

Disliked: It was very hot when we were there, perhaps some air-con for those hotter times of the year...?
