Good value (for Finland), close to the tram and friendly staff. It is well run but is large and impersonal and you probably wont meet to many people (not that we minded). The restaurant was very good value and the pizzas were yummy.

I only liked the fact that I got my own room and didn't have to share (and hear other snoring). I didn't like the fact that I got a room on the 6th floor (smokers floor) that had a strong smell of smoke, and I wasn't either informed about it when I got the key to the room. When I went down to ask what could be done with it, I was told that the rest of the floors was taken :-( I got several keys so I could walk around in the 6th floor and smell the other rooms that weren't taken... No fun at all. You should operate with a question in your booking form that asks about smoking, and the guarantee that the non-smoking person will get a smoke free room. Or you could abandon smoke inside and make 6th floor smoke free as well.
The rooms were cold and unfriendly, and I missed a bigger "living room" to stay in, hang out and meet other people. The kitchen on the 6th floor had such strong food odour that I didn't feel like staying there and watch tv.
And: it's BAD to pay for the internet at the hostel. All the hostels I've been to in the world gives access to it for free.

The staff are friendly. The free sauna is great. The location is very cool and near the tram. The bar is quite nice.
However...the bathrooms were tatty and very old.

Cheap compared to the cost of living in finland. the only negative point are the beds which are very hard.
