Liked: The collection of islands that make up Suomenlinna are magical. I stayed there for a weekend in mid-June and the island was covered in the largest, most fragrant lilac bushes I have seen. The ferry is a nice, short ride, and it's just 12 or so minutes between the speed of Helskinki in the summer and the calmness of the islands.The hostel is quiet and relaxing. I recommend bringing ear plugs in the case that you have snorers in your room.

Liked: It is on an island and obviously a bit far from the center (although only 15 min on ferrry) and not much going on on the island, but it was beautiful and the hostal is excellently run.

Liked: Perfect and quiet place. Then nature there is amazing! I can recommend this place for everyone who like to walk... to be alone. But of course there is place for party. Security level was great but I had a middle size bag. So be carefully boxes aren't so big.

Liked: It's on an island, but it's only a ten or fifteen minute ride, and your dropped off directly downtown, into market square. So, in a sense it's closer than some other hostel in the city, but a few blocks away from the downtown. And the island is pretty, too.

Liked: Location and uniqueness of setting. Just be aware that the facillities on the island shut early so if you want a drink or meal out check the closing times of the restaurants.
