Overview

Castaway from the tourist trail - submerged in culture - surrounded by impossible beauty.

Discover the ultimate remote hidden paradise of Fiji - fun, eco-friendly, culturally immersed and impossibly beautiful. The Maqai tribe (the staff) host the resort with natural, sincere abundance of outer island hospitality. The beachfront property on Qamea Island is nestled between a full lush jungle and a lovely white sandy beach. The tribe are the happiest people on the planet and give the place a radiant, magical atmosphere. It's a new fresh style of small resort that is very Fijian, offers traditional outer island experiences and serves delicious food!

It is a fun, eco-friendly destination for adventurous, budget travellers and surfers with the happiest staff on Earth. It's a new fresh style of small resort that is very uniquely Fijian, offering a one-of-a-kind traditional outer island experience.

Highly recommended activities include swinging in a hammock, regularly dipping in the ocean, sunbathing where the azure blue water meets the white sand, sipping on fresh green coconuts, hanging out in villages and drinking some kava. More active options include world class snorkelling, diving, and surfing.

Accommodation is 100% beachfront... in Eco-Bures (safari cabins). We have 8 and they are nestled under the palms along the beachfront. Eco-Bures are furnished with comfy dressed beds, lazy deck chairs, rainwater flush toilets, rainwater showers and are just a few meters from the ocean.

Maqai food is delicious! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is prepared with a combination of vegetables harvested fresh from our on-sight organic garden as well as from the local farmer's markets. Fresh catch seafood is often on the menu and meal inspirations and recipes come from the local Fijian village home as well as popular favourites across the globe. Tea/coffee is available all day as well as fresh fruit. On special occasions, the Maqai crew does a Lovo night or a big BBQ feast.

Maqai's Fiji Fusion Meal Plan is F$50 a day for adults and F$35 for children.

BYO alcohol.
