Liked: Mamas was great. Stayed here the night before and after our stay on the Yasawas. They are quite humble hosts and you must try their dinner menu. They dont advertise themselves that well but the food was delicious. A great experience here.

Liked: Thia place is amazing, mama is a so funny but a kind love,y lady who looks after her guests. If you want a homely, friendly place to stay where people will look after you and wont let you get robbed then stay here.

Liked: We had a great stay at Mamas and returned three times during our month stay in Fiji. Each time it felt like we were arriving at a friend's place. It is a great base to start your trip in Fiji. Mama and her staff are very kind, welcoming,helpful and informative. They really helped us plan our trip and just want everyone to have a good time. Mama was the nicest person we met in Fiji. If any guest has a problem or bad experience whilst in Fiji, Mama can be relied on to sort it out. Great value and lovely food!

Disliked: Saying good bye to Mama and staff!

Liked: Mama is great value and really helpful, her staff are also really good

Disliked: Distance from town proper,15 min drive or so. Not too bad as taxi's are very cheap and there is a bus stop outside the hostel.

Liked: It's right on the beach,although the beach area was not taken care of. Broken chairs etc. It's the cheapest place around with beach acces, although horizon hostel next door is cheaper and you can use all facilities at the nice smugglers backpackers (incl breakfast)

Disliked: Unfriendly staff, waited 2 hours for the airport pickup, internet was expensive and didn't work (other hostels around offer free wifi). Mama was nice but she's not running the place (anymore). The other staff didn't care about the guest, eg. They were always laying around, singing and chatting while the hostel was dirty and the rooms not done.

Liked: Quiet. Nice breakfast.

Disliked: Mama can be quite unfriendly at times, trying to patronize me as if I was a 12-year old. Besides, they do help you to plan your trip but frankly, you get better advice at the nearby Smugglers Cove.

Liked: Very friendly staff, Mama and Zelda are two really lovely Mamas!! Zelda booked us a perfect trip to the Yasawa Islands for 7 nights! Everything worked well and we really enjoyed our stay there! When we came back form the islands we felt like coming back home! The own Taxi Service and Don the Taxi driver gave us some good tipps when we went to town. The Airport pick up and the drop off by taxi was also great! Thanks

Liked: Mama is such a nice lady! Much cheaper to stay here than the place next door Smugglers Cove. Perfect location and helpful staff

Liked: It was right by the beach, it has free internet ( although the signal is not very strong in the bar area), free kayaking and a few organised activities (snorkelling trip, hike to a waterfall, volleyball).

Disliked: The dinner menu was restricted to 3 choices which changed daily and you had to order before 5pm. Just don't expect too much.

Disliked: the pool you couldn´t realy use- the water in the pool was very green and seemed old water, seemed dirty

Liked: Spend two nights there before heading off to the islands (double w bathroom): Zelda organized our trip to the Yasawas perfectly (check prices and ask for discount). Rooms are new and very clean (main house) and there is a happy hour bar downstairs :) - during our 10 days stay at the Yasawas we left part of our luggage there (we came back for our last night and it was there where we left it). Look out for vouchers for free airport drop-off.

Liked: Lovely views and well located for the the main town of Nadi and not too far from the port .

Disliked: The staff could not be more unhelpful if they tried . How they one the 2009 best staff award is truly amazing . Upon arriving at Nadi airport the free airport pick was not there as agreed . Upon phoning the hotel they said they was on there way . 40mins later we are the only ones still waiting in the airport , anyway after an hour i called again they said they was stuck in the school traffic. School finished at 3pm it was 5.30pm when i phoned so they were outright lieing. From there they told us just to get a taxi , thought this was strange as they were on there way apparently! so there was another lie . Anyway we got a taxi and once we got to the hotel the did not apologise and asked if the cab driver needs paying - like they thought we would pay it . they take 20 dollar key deposit , not usually a problem but try and get it back in the morning ! Especially when they know the bus is waiting to take you to the port , every staff member vanished at this time knowing if you hung around for your 20 dollars you would miss your transfer to the islands ! Sneaky sneaky sneaky . The first room we booked was not good so upgraded to a better room , which was great . We agreed a upgrade of 60 dollars , once we moved all our belongings they then decided they got it wrong it is 100 dollars upon telling them i will not pay that they asked me what can i afford to pay ! How to run a buisness eh! Also the bar bill amount was changed - purchased drinks in happy hour and when i went to pay the had altered the price back to normal . Basically sneaky , and some tactics which i believe are underhand . I will never return!

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was great value for money.

Disliked: The larger dorm's bathroom wasn't that clean and the lock didn't work but the smaller dorm was nice.

Liked: Very good location near to the airport, free airport pick up and very friendly staff. Everybody learns your name straight away and makes sure you are comfortable which does make you feel at ease. Good position right on the beach and the price is great.

Disliked: One member of staff was very pushy about using the travel agent within the hostel and making sure we booked the deals he was offering. He didn't seem to appreciate what we were looking for which is a shame. However, he did get us a great deal at Walu Beach Resort which was absolutely brilliant so definitely ask about that!
