The Beachouse is ideal for those who want a central home base. You can take advantage of the great outings nearby such as village visits and hiking, or simply relax and enjoy our beachside location and our home library. We also offer use of sea-kayaks, bikes, snorkelling gear, boat trips and many other guided and organised activities (some of which are facilitated by local indigenous Fijiian villagers who have very reasonable rates!)

As you may already know, the Beachouse was the site selected for the reality TV show ‘Love Island’ (a U.K ITV1/Granada program). Filming took place between April 24th & September 10th 2006. As a result we have been busy organizing the resort after the film crews departure (there were 400 crew housed in hotels along the Coral Coast!!). We now have spectacular bure buildings for general use near the beach (see website), this also includes a new resort pool.

THE CAFE:
The Beachouse has its own beachside cafe and bar which is open from 8am until midnight. Meals vary in price from F$3.00 to F$11.00. We serve a variety of tasty meals and vegetarians are also catered for. The cafe has a certain rustic charm and is complimented by a pool side bar situated 30 metres from the beach; it consequently acts as a popular focal point for most of our guests.

GETTING TO THE BEACHOUSE:
There is a local bus service to the Beachouse approximately every hour (during daylight hours) from Lautoka, Nadi or Suva. Simply ask a local where the nearest bus stop is (one at the departure end of airport terminal & one opposite the airport gate, outside Raffles Hotel, 2min walk).
The first bus comes through the airport at 7am daily (Pacific Express) & the last bus is at 6pm. The bus trip takes approximately 2 hours from Nadi and costs about F$9.00. Where possible, try to use Express buses as they stop less often, Stage buses stop where ever somebody rings the bell & this can make the journey slower. All buses stop at the Beachouse (about 40 minutes after the Sigatoka stop when coming from Nadi). The buses drop you at the entrance to the Beachouse and it is only a 2 minute walk to the Resort and the beach.

If you arrive in Nadi in the evening or later (after 5pm), we suggest that you stay a night in Nadi and then travel to the Beachouse the next day - as a taxi at night will cost you about The Beachouse is a purpose built backpacking resort, situated approximately half way between Nadi (where the plane lands) and Suva (Fiji's capital city), on Fiji's Coral Coast. What is there to do whilst at the beach house??:
For those who do not want to just laze on the beach or curl up in a hammock with a book ... we have plenty of other possible activities for you. A sample is as follows: guided reef walks (learn how to catch octopus at low tide), coconut weaving lessons, beach volleyball every afternoon, or simply lounge by the pool. Sana from Navola Village also organises daily snorkelling trips to the reef, plus inexpensive bike & sea-kayak hire. Visiting the local village school and a trek to the Korolevu Waterfall are highly recommended. SCUBA diving is also available nearby and in the Beqa Lagoon. The nearby hinterland rainforest also boasts some excellent white-water rafting. Recently we commenced trekking expeditions to Navola Falls. This is a 4 hour round hike from the Beachouse ...... a "must do" activity for those guests who want a good bush-walk. Going further a field, you can take a Suva trip - visit the museum, see where the coups took place or take in a movie (very reasonable & clean modern theatres). Sigatoka is a good day trip for those wanting to visit the sand dunes & the Tavuni Hill Fort or buy produce at the local market. Internet is also available for those wanting to e-mail or browse the web. Broadband (via satellite) will be available from January, 2007.
