Liked: Central location, nice atmosphere, nice common room where you easily meet other travellers, 2 free computer, music, big kitchen with all you need - perfect!

Disliked: our room was on the second floor, there was only one toilet. For shower (or for a second toilet) you had to go downstairs.

Liked: Very friendly staff, free wifi, super location.

Disliked: The air in the rooms was not very good, bad ventilation and not possible to open windows. The showers was a bit small.

Liked: Location is great (in heart of old town). Hostel was pretty clean and quiet. There is a smoking area in the small closed yard of the house (interesting place and convenient for smokers). Kithcen is big and equipped good. Free WiFi worked great both in common room and in dorm.

Disliked: Central heating was off. There was a heater in our dorm, and it worked good, but our dorm was small. I doubt that big dorms were comfortable in such conditions. In common room it was pretty cold. Common room is not very cosy (located in basement) and a bit noisy because of TV. Once we found our room open and a key was left in the lock outside, so we felt not very safe.

Liked: Staff were great - friendly and very helpful. The rooms were cheap, comfy and clean. The hostel is excellently located for everything in old town.

Disliked: There aren't really enough showers but this wasn't a big problem.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We booked a four bedroom dorm but it ended up with 5 beds but 6 people by the morning. Random people were also walking in and out of our room once the other people arrived back. The room was very small and cramped and the beds were very uncomfortable. Only 1 tiny window with no real natural light which made the small room very stuffy. The hostel is also very noisy. Both from people staying at the hostel and from the street. It appears that the staff at the hostel are more concerned with drinking with the guests rather than running the hostel. The bathroom has only 3 showers which are not very secure. My partner was showering when someone forced the door open leaving her standing there naked as all her belongings fell on the floor!!!! There is also no water pressure often reducing to a mere dribble!!! Overall this hostel was very disappointing. We left after one night (we had originally booked for 2 nights and the staff did not seem that concerned about us leaving and did not enquire as to why we were leaving) due to a combination of poor facilities (not as described on the website) and lack of sleep. This ruined our stay in Tallinn!!!!!! On a brighter note (not related to Hostel Alur) we went to kiwi backpackers but unfortunately they were full. However the receptionist there was very helpful and managed to find us somewhere alot better to stay.

Liked: top place in tallinn, very central.. REALLY in the old town.. staff was very nice and helpful, we would always come back for a second stay!!

Disliked: nothing bad!!

Liked: The beds were separate & nice in a room for 5 pers. The common shower was ok. Kitchen - ok to have a quick brekfast. Convenient location.

Disliked: There was no wardrobe in a room only hooks to hang coats. Very small internal yard, always field with smoke.

Liked: Good common area at the basement. Basic cooking facilities. Nice music in common area. Good location. Close to Russian flea market and train station, and town hall square.

Disliked: Not honest on pricing. Everyone pays different prices in the same dormitory. Cheaper to book online than walk-in. I needed to do the booking everyday on internet...very stupid arrangement. Lousy mattresses. Showers not strong enough.Can do better to upgrade the facilities a bit.

Liked: This property was literally right around the corner from the Russian consulate, where I had business.

Disliked: The bathrooms were not clean, and the staff was unfriendly. I had to prolong my stay in Tallinn, and therefore extended my booking at this hostel. Imagine my surprise when I was told (two days after I had extended the reservation) that they would not have space for me that night or consequent nights. This led me on an hours long search through Tallinn for another hostel with available space for the very same night - a difficult task at the beginning of tourist season. The staff made minimal attempts to help me find another location even though the problem was urgent and the mistake was theirs. The hostel is kept quite cold and the common space is not very inviting. Additionally, someone stole my food from the refrigerator.

Liked: Cozy, clean, helpful, neat, cheap, international, hand-made and home-like. 2 minutes from the very Tallinn centre.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The location is ecellent, so is the price. I was also happy to find out that I will be only sharing room with one girl.

Disliked: The reception girl made me waiting some 15mins while she was chatting to her friend but then later she was very friendly and nice.

Liked: Great location very central to everything in the OId Town. Nice big room with very comfortable bed, bathroom/WC always clean and with plenty of hot water.

Disliked: Room was very dark, perhaps a bed lamp could be provided for each bed as it was very difficult to read in the room. WiFi only available in reception area, did not work in my room. The hired towel was miniscule.

Liked: this place is right in the centre of the old town without being in a noisy street. we are travelling as a couple so we were not interested in one of the crazy party hostels and this was perfect.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.
