Liked: It's really in the center of the (not so big) city, you can reach every corner within half an hour, the sea and the castle are just some meters away. The kitchen looks good, but we did not use it.

Disliked: There could be more bathrooms -- there was only one shower and one toilet for men and one for women.

Disliked: awkward atmosphere (cheap hotel or hostel?), Haapsalu isnºt good to stay for more than 1 night

Liked: The only thing I liked more or less about the hostel was its location.

Disliked: The hostel staff is lazy and a bit stupid. The room was offered different of that I ordered. A receptionist could not print out a receipt for did not know how to do it correctly. Parking place is very small. A bowling is located on the ground floor, nice, isn’t it? A lot of gnats and mosquitoes in rooms, you can hardly survive one night there.

Liked: The place is really tidy, obviously recently renovated so everything is tip-top. The hostel is right next to the old castle and only about 100m from the restaurants and the main street, Post. The same building (and owner, I think) has a bowling alley.

Liked: This is a relatively new hostel, installed in the 2nd (by US counting) floor of a remodeled building, over a bowling alley. Most important words here are 'Bowling Alley'. Some of the rooms, or at least mine, seemed at times to be IN the bowling alley. That said, the bowling business is seasonal and though they stay open til midnight, it was usually pretty quiet after 9 or 10. I had a long narrow room with 3 beds and never saw a roommate, so I got the bed near the one tiny window. I dont think it would have been much fun if I had had to share the room with 2 others. Kitchen, showers, WC all clean and neat, with good facilities if you want to cook, and TV to watch. Most of the few others staying there did not speak much English (nor did the staff) so I didnt have much social contact..this might be totally different for others. Cyclists note: Owners let me keep my bicycle in the bowling alley overnight because there is no covered bike rack or storage room.
