Situated just 10 minutes walk from the city centre, midway between the railway station and York Race Course, the Barrington is an Edwardian Town House built around 1906. The house both inside and out still displays many of the original features of that period.

Barrington House has been a guest house for over 25 years and during this time it has established a good repeat clientele due to our quality of service and value for money. Close to the guest house are many restaurants, bars, shops, and all the facilities of the City Centre.

Visitors to Barrington House are immediately aware of the elegance of their surroundings, the attractive dining room serves full English breakfasts with Continental and Vegetarian alternatives, and guests can enjoy discussing the day's events in leisure. We are situated in a quiet cul-de-sac off the main road

For those who are perhaps coming to York for the first time, Barrington House with its friendly and helpful staff is the ideal choice. All superbly furnished bedrooms are fully equipped with en suite facilities, colour television and tea/coffee hospitality tray with complimentary biscuits.

Double room ~ offering a large double bed, with en-suite shower and toilet. Colour television, radio alarms and coffee-making facilities are included.

Family room ~ Offering spacious accommodation with one double and two single beds, en-suite shower and toilet, colour TV radio alarms and tea/coffee making facilities.

Dining offering a choice of cooked breakfast or continental with various cereals, yogurt, grapefruit, fruit juice and fresh fruit.

We do not accept stag or hen parties or single sex groups i.e. all male or all female
