It is a good base for walking and riding; explore the open hills and wooded valleys of this beautiful area.
For the less energetic, Dunster - with its castle, gardens and working water mill - is only about thirty minutes away by road. Pack buckets and spades too for a trip to Minehead.
Local food is a specialty at the hostel and there's an inn nearby.
