About Swaffham Lodge-A47 Norfolk
Swaffham Lodge offers clean, comfortable rooms. Each room comes with its own LCD TV, fresh linen and towels, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers, Wi-Fi, open shut window, minibar, mirror, desk, wardrobe and chairs. Each room has its own private shower room and toilet.
Swaffham has a range of independent shops, you'll find a bustling Saturday Market with an Auction, a variety of cafes, restaurants and charming country pubs in the surrounding villages too. Many of these serve food.
Other local places of interest include the Swaffham Ecotech, where you can view the UK's first multi-megawatt wind turbine, and Gooderstone Water Gardens, which is a must for nature lovers. Narborough Trout Lakes offer a great day's fishing, while walkers and bird watchers will enjoy the ancient Peddar's Way, which is part of the National Trail.
Swaffham has a grand medieval church, built partly with treasure found by the legendary Pedlar of Swaffham, and there are lots of other historic sites just a short drive away. These include Castle Acre Priory, one of the largest and best preserved monasteries in Britain, and the Iceni Village, a pre-Roman settlement reconstructed as it was in the time of Queen Boadicea.
