Disliked: the blinds in our room were broken so no sleeping after daylight. also the room we were in is right outside a busy pedestrian crossing that makes a horrible beeping sound everytime it turns green to walk across...this didnt bother me so much but made it impossible for my boyfriend to sleep

Liked: price and location is great, 10. min walking distance to man. picadilly train station. very close to attraction and bars, cafes. free breakfast is OK.

Disliked: beds are sponge-like, not easy to sleep all night.

Liked: * Great location

Disliked: * NO FREE WIFI... is this the last hostel in england to not provide free wifi??? * The building is very old and disgusting. Toilets and showers are disgusting, rooms are very old, with few power points. * Showers are push button (need to push every 8 seconds) and no control over temperature. Terrible. Glad to leave this place. * Breakfast was terrible. Everything was gone, by the time I arrived (at 9am). Not even any milk.

Liked: Free, though meger, breakfast. It's a decent location not too far from things. Free toast and tea at all hours

Disliked: Charging for Wifi? And £5 a day at that! Wow. The dorms also house too many people. More than a dozen and things get too impersonal and there is always someone who snores.

Liked: Rooms were clean and nice. We stayed there during the riots, but felt still safe. Friendly staff and quite good kitchen.

Liked: Me and my friend were in a spacious and clean room for 8 people at the first floor. In the hostel there are a lot common room where is possible find facilities, like TV, radio, vieogames… The hostel was big, clean, central and well furnished and the staff was helpful and available all day.

Disliked: There is no free internet neither with your own laptop.

Liked: Great atmosphere. Awesome to meet new people from around the world. Great family for money and perfect for any student.

Disliked: The room for luggage had no order and bags were piled on top of each other.

Disliked: I had my camera's charger stolen in my room. Staff said it is not their business...

Liked: The staff is friendly. There are unlimited bread and coffee for us, besides we can cook in the kitchen and watch some TV during our free time. The bed is clean and comfortable.

Disliked: The light in the toilet is not working and the toilet is kind of old.

Liked: the staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a 5minute walk into the city centre, good that the beds were numbered, toilets were on my floor which was convenient, 24hr toast was good to save money after a night out instead of pizza, and breakfast was decent, value for money.

Disliked: one of the night guards tried to lure me into an 'empty dorm' then knocked on our room door during the night - still has not put me off staying in the hostel again because of value for money.

Liked: The location was awesome, and the moment we came in we knew we were going to like this. The reception room was big and it led straight to the common room / kitchen which was well equipped and spacious. There was computers, snacks, pool table, sofas and toast + tea available any time of the day. The room was big enough to have the 8 beds and the showers were great, though you couldn't change the temperature of the water (if you go there you should ask the staff in which levels the water is hotter and in which levels it colder)

Disliked: Nothing really :)

Liked: Very sociable atmosphere, comfy beds

Disliked: No lift, had to drag my bag up to 5th floor

Liked: staff were really helpful in giving information about things to see in Manchester. great lounge/kitchen area and tv room to hang out in.

Disliked: the noise from the street outside. lots of buses and trucks from around 5am, and i guess it's pot luck but two of the three nights i was there, there were people outside making noise (like playing a guitar and singing... which i don't usually mind) until 3am. the rooms were really hot with the windows closed and really loud with them open. made for bad sleep.
