Liked: Big, lots of rooms, lots of places to sit downstairs

Disliked: No personality, long wait for check in, room was generic and not clean. Bathrooms were not clean and there were too few for the amount of people staying on that floor.

Liked: Clean, good value, 24 hr reception

Disliked: not sure whether toilets are really separated for male and female at both ends of corridors. If yes, it is too far to walk for those staying in the wrong end as the corridor is very long. The main entrance is not very obvious to first time visitors. There should be a sign on the main road gate.

Liked: Friendly staff and clean rooms.

Disliked: There aren't individual lockers and you must pay for the available ones. During my stay, there were too few showers for the number of guests in my floor. Furthermore, some showers were broken or out of service and the same toilets were shared by both men and women.

Liked: Great location, very clean, nearby shops, pharmacy, bus stops, cab office, suitable for lone or group travelers.

Disliked: Busy road gave out a lot of noise, had to rent towels, pay for locker/storage, no wifi in rooms which meant main area was often crowded.

Liked: The staff, they really stepped up to the plate every time I needed help or advice. There was one gentleman in particular who handle our bookings (which were complicated) extremely well. The location was also a good base from which to go see the sights and sounds of London. The hostel was easy to find and the food on offer was pretty decent. The shower was hot with good pressure.

Disliked: There were a few issues, firstly it isn't quiet... It is on a busy street with lots of traffic 24/7 plus I could clearly hear everyone in the toilets/showers next to my room. Not much the hostel can do about that, but they shouldn't advertise it as a quite stay... Cleanliness was another issue, the room I was in had an en suite that was only cleaned every other day. With 6 guys in the room it got pretty dirty between washes, and the shared bathrooms were worse. When the cleaning staff came they did a great job, if it was daily this would not have been an issue. My thoughts are that the hostel was slightly understaffed, especially for a busy weekend (whether or not there were internal issues causing this, I don't know). Lastly the common room has no atmosphere, its somehow too clinical and modern, which doesn't lend itself to people being social, but I am knit picking now.

Liked: Good value, only 5 mins walk from Elephant and Castle stations along the main road. Clean room, quick check-in, friendly staff, all you need really.

Liked: The location itself was good, the underground goes straight to the centre in no more than 20 min. The part of the city, however, is not very nice. Seems quite rough, not completely safe.

Disliked: The door to the 18 bed dorm was very noisy, which is a major problem if 18 people walk in and out. There was absolutely no service flexibility. I checked out early and inquired if I could leave my bed for another traveller. Not only would she have had to pay for the bed (for which I had already paid a lot, given that it's a hostel), the rates were significantly higher than what I had paid. I don't expect a high level of service but there should be some flexibility. Also, there was a 3 pound charge per day for the use of lockers which I find excessive.

Disliked: Just one of those hostels pumping out big numbers, minimising costs at all times possible. Too many people per bathroom, needs to be cleaned more regularly than once a day

Liked: We had a private room and bathroom with a bunk bed. It was less than 10 min walk to Elephant and Castle tube and there were multiple buses leaving frequently from right outside the hostel. It is a hostel so don't expect a hotel but it was clean and comfortable.

Disliked: Nothing specifically.

Liked: Good points; room was clean, location.

Disliked: Bad points; showers so bad we didn't shower the second day, share bathrooms with women, men, and children of all ages, far to few bathrooms, pay for a locker and a towel, rooms small. In summary, worst hostel I have stayed in three years of travelling. Pay a couple more pounds and stay somewhere else.

Liked: I really enjoyed seeing such a big and busy place being as clean as it is. The staff is really helpful and the dorm is really spacious which is excellent.

Disliked: I don't like hostels without self catering kitchens where you can cook, so that is really a negative point (in my point of view). And the lockers are really expensive, 2£ for every time you want to access it, seems a little bit to much,

Liked: Great place! Very helpful staff, rooms were smallish, but they were described as such and really, if i were looking for huge rooms I'd be in a hotel. Very clean and comfortable! Lots of offerings for food - average priced - not super cheap hostel food, but also very high quality. I'd stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.

Disliked: We descovered later that we could have taken a bus from the tube to the hostel - it was a bit of a walk at night - I'd recommend they gave more distinct directions on how to get there if you are using public transport. It's not that there was nothing, just that when you are tired and don't know where you are really, really clear maps and directions are appreciated.... and that's not really a dislike, just a minor improvement suggestiong....
