Globe Trott Inns is located in East London on the outskirts of the city center. We are a simple, easy going hostel and some would say a ‘bit rough around the edges’. We pride ourselves on being a genuine backpacker’s creating a fun filled, relaxed and care free environment where you will make friends and have a good time. Many of our guests extend their stay with us or come back to visit again and again.

As we are completely open about what is great about the hostel, we are also open about what you should consider before booking. So please read the following as we don’t want you to be disappointed upon arrival.

We are 35 minutes by underground from the official center point of London, Charing Cross. A short travel time by London standards! If it takes you any longer to get here you are not using the public transport correctly!

The hostel is located in the remaining corner of a former castle with a rich history (*cough* brothel *cough*). In no way are we falling down but it does show its age with scratches on the floors, little marks here there and well used couches. We like the lived in feel it creates so if you are expecting marble floors, velvet curtains and silk sheets its best to look elsewhere.

Our bathrooms are so big and homely some guests and couples tend to stay too long in them, so you might have to queue for the shower in the morning. We recommend to book a bed in one of our en-suites dorms if this would be an issue for you.

Our 10 bed mixed dorm with shared bathroom is beside our common room which is often filled with guests eating, drinking and being merry. If you are a light sleeper please do not book a bed in that dorm; it’s why it’s our cheapest room.

Some guests seem to think that this area is a bit ‘sketchy’. It’s not, and guests experiencing a huge metropolis like London for the first time will think this way until they get used to it.

Now it’s time for all the good stuff!

Our staff are all seasoned travellers and have lived in London for some time. They can give you advice on what’s on around London, where to go and who to do. Being so close to East London means that you guys will get to see the alternative side of London’s galleries, street art, markets and underground cafes and bars…. Sounds alright!

We are proud of our hostel and keeping the place clean and our facilities are cleaned 3 times a day.
We are big on security and provide lockers free of charge (bring your own padlock), 24 hour reception, CCTV throughout the hostel and keycard entry system for all doors

Check in is from 12pm but if your bed is available before that we will let you check in early, if not we will store your luggage for free and even let you have our breakfast between 8am and 10am. Check out is by 11am
