Liked: Its location. Staff were helpful

Disliked: Very dirty. Room service did not clean the rooms everyday. Rooms were very conjested. it did not look like a hostel but a flat turned into hostel.

Liked: The atmosphere was very nice: open and friendly. The location was fantastic and its a nice building. Its a simple but fair hostel, nothing more nothing less.

Disliked: The rooms were rather small: good for a short stay but wouldnt recommend it for longer stays. internet was a bit slow (in the common room at least).

Liked: It was cheap and great location. And we had a quiet room, because the window was facing the back yard.

Disliked: The bed was terrible, there was only one shower/bathtub. The breakfast was a little too simple; toast and jam.

Disliked: Uncomfortable beds and noise coming through the thin doors. Noise from outside should be expected and not complained about as it's right on the Strand in central London!!

Liked: The location is superb for all sites in london, I am a Londoner and anywhere on the Strand is good. You can get a private room a bit pricey as it was small and not up to the standard you would get at Uni. For a few pounds more you can stay at the travel lodge.

Disliked: The bathrooms are small and out dated but at least you got lots of hotwater. The stairs are small and lots. The windows do not hold back any noise from the street and being in london the traffic noise is 24/7, so not much sleep.

Liked: Location.

Disliked: "Continental breakfast" is only toast, melted butter, little jam, some cereal and a cup of coffee or tea. Luggage room is a dirty tiny shed that is not always locked. Internet does not work in the rooms but only in their Indian bar. Toilets don't even have a sink to wash your hands (it's in your room). Rooms very small for 4 people. Doors were not really safe (very cheap wood). In the bathroom you have nowhere to put your clothes or bath products on (except the floor). Also, the curtain bar fell down while I was taking a shower and for some extrange reason it was impossible to put it back onto its place. Surprisingly, the bar was reduced in length so it never reached both ends of the bathroom! It was a very strange scene, finding myself naked and cold trying to put this bar into place at 1 am..

Liked: Staff extremely helpful (the gentleman even carried my suitcase to my room because it was not eh 6th floor). Family owned. Rooms are very clean. Because of the way it's build it's quiet (no people running around and making noise). Safe, they really pay attention who comes in and out and lock the doors if no one is at the reception.

Disliked: Shower could be cleaner. I was in the 6th floor - NO Elevator! Breakfast is poor. Not many showers.

Liked: It was downtown

Disliked: the wifi was terrible and rarely worked. Half the time you ran out of hot water. There was no soap, you had to buy a towel, the rooms were a shoebox, no place to hang your clothes. Used condom on the stairs, too many stairs to get to your room and the office, no lift.

Disliked: carpet is dirty, towel was from Worldcup 94!!!, shower head didn'T work properly, overall everything was in poor shape for the price.

Liked: Location ok, not much in immediate area though. Comfortable beds

Disliked: Pretty poor quality for £40 each a night - horrible view, no TV in room, toilets poor condition. Check-out time of 10am is too early!

Liked: Fantastic location, right in the heart of London with easy access to tubes, buses and river Thames.

Disliked: Wifi - only available in the lounge and signal was sporadic. Toilets - not very clean. Some seats are broken and no soap was provided. Shower - again, no shower gel/shampoo. Water temperature was not stable.

Disliked: walking into the strand there were wine botttles on the footstep. i was put on the 6th floor with no elevator. no facilities in the rooms. extremely loud cinema or something like it in a very close proximity, that kept me up for most of the night. when looking out of the window there was a semi balcony which was covered with alcohol bottles. when trying to check out 2 days early was told by staff i had to wait an hour and a half until the manager came. was not grated a refund for the days i did not stay there that were booked through hostelbookers.. wifi only worked on my mobile while in reception. should be advertised as a hostel rather than a hotel.

Liked: The showers were good. The location was great, just a short walk to the Thames and several Underground stations.

Disliked: The floor was very dirty, as if it hadn't been swept in a week. The staff wasn't very knowledgeable about nearby attractions/services.

Liked: The location was PERFECT! Right across the road from the theatre playing The Lion King - which we ended up seeing and was amazing. Very close to Covent Garden & therefore Covent Garden Tube Station, which was handy in getting around London. Breakfast was simple, cereal & toast, but nice. It was above an Indian Restaurant, which we didn't mind because we like Indian Food. The smell lingers into your room during the evenings though, so prepare to get hungry! We gave in & ate downstairs a couple of times purely because it smelt so yummy!

Disliked: Lots of stairs! We were given a room on the fifth floor so be warned. At least it's good for the thigh muscles! During our stay there was a school excursion group also staying there, so there was a bit of noise to deal with, along with queues for the showers in the morning. The cleaners spoke poor English & after they changed our sheets, the cleaner took my pillow case that was covering my own personal pillow as he assumed it was the hotels. Several stressful conversations with the hotel staff later, they managed to rummage through the dirty laundry bags to retrieve it.
