Liked: The property is situated in a quiet neighborhood, about a 2 minute walk from the Earl's Court Underground. Buildings are safe and secure, with a coded entry. Internet in the lobby is cheap; 1 pound for 75 minutes. As mentioned, the neighborhood is near the swanky South Ken, Chelsea district. The rate per night per person is only around 20 pounds, which is not only a steal for a legit hostel in London, but particularly for the neighborhood it is in as well.

Disliked: Initial problem with overbooking of the hostel was soon resolved, but I later noticed that it seems to be a continuing flaw in their business model, as a family arrived to find they too had to deal with their room being overbooked. Since the hostel is called Youth Hostel, I thought the name would denote that young travelers and students would make up the majority of the hostel's residents. Not true; families and older men in groups, predominately from Eastern Europe swarmed the place during our stay. This place is not very conducive to meeting students. Showers are disgusting and I'm convinced they were used as a urinal as well. Soap was never provided in any of the bathrooms to wash your hands. But if you are down with not showering for your stay (my group was) and can buy a bottle of Purell, you should be set.

Liked: Is in a nice area. Good transport everywhere from this hostel (close to the Imperial Collage. Staff helps out if have any questions/problems.

Disliked: Rooms are ok, but the they have common bath-rooms . Showers don't look to nice ....but if your not to pretentious they are ok. Very thin walls and floors. You can hear people walking around.

Liked: The location is relativly central, the price is very low and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Disliked: The room numbering system made the hostel become a bit of a maze, but that was not really a problem.

Liked: The bedrooms are very nice. We were 10 and we had the space to have a very good weekend all together. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom quite spacious for young people. Commodities like fridge are very useful.

Liked: The room was not clean when we arrive, so the boss promised to clean it before we come back. However, when I and my friend came back during midnight, it was still very dirty. More over, I found it was a female-only dorm that some girls already lived there, and we are boys. so they shift us to another building. Although it was not far away, but it was really not a pleasant experience when you needed to move all your stuff to during midnight and you were very tired.

Liked: The Kensington area has some adorable places to visit, and is near Hyde Park and Kensington High Street which has great shopping, but is also quite far from other attractions.

Liked: I liked the fish tank and the birds in the entrance lobby/internet room.I stayed in a 6 bed dorm with it's own shower, toilet and kitchen which I found pretty impressive, and for the price it is a great location. Another girl in the room however did say that her booking had been messed up, and she had found cock-roaches in the shower!

Liked: I DID NOT like the fact that wifi was so expensive to use. People use hostels for a cheap place to stay therefore £1 for 10 minutes was excessive considering I was using my own laptop. FREE or £1 per hour would be acceptable for accomodation of this type. In most hostels wifi is free.All in all a good place to stay within easy reach of central London.
