Liked: clean, could buy transport tickets at the desk.

Disliked: 3 story bunks, room incredibly small, total fire hazard, six person rooms big enough for 3-4 people max- you have to sleep with your bag in your bed if you want to be able to walk on the patch of floor! man at reception was drunk? seemed to double as a bartender, fine, whatever, but they specifically say they accept euros and then he couldn't figure out the conversion and was bothered...don't accept them if your employees can't all do the math/are going to be drunk! no city maps/tourism advice, treated like we were bothering the receptionist. receptionist couldn't point us to the nearest train station which was weird. facilities are eh, clean though. breakfast is bad and not worth it if you're lactose intolerant like i am, its cereal with milk and toast. water or more milk, tea, maybe coffee?

Liked: Lots of plugs in the common areas, and reliable wifi. Nice common area. Great bathrooms in the dorms with reliable hot water, very clean, surprisingly classy (clearly converted from ensuite single bathrooms). Great location. I've stayed several times at another Smart property, the Smart Hyde Park Inn, on Inverness Terrace; the levels of cleanliness/warmth/reliable wifi/hot water/friendliness are much better at Smart Hyde Park View.

Disliked: There's no kitchen at all- even a kettle and a microwave in the common area would make life so much easier. My locker wasn't fully secure.

Liked: Good location, very close to three tube stations. Free breakfast and wifi (pretty slow) that worked in the rooms. There's laundry (pretty expensive) but considering what paid (some sort of special meant that I paid less than 6 pounds per night) I am pretty happy with Hyde Park View but if I paid the 15 pounds it usually costs I definitely would not have been. There's a lift as well. The bathrooms are in the dorms but mine was really pretty decent, pretty clean and plenty of space.

Disliked: It feels somehow incredibly seedy-I really didn't feel very happy about leaving my things in the rooms etc. There's no kitchen despite them advertising themselves as having one. The breakfast is pretty poor, just cornflakes and white toast with butter or strawb jam. The rooms are SO cramped, there is no space at all to put anything and they're pretty grubby as well-it's obvious that the doona covers have never been changed and they smell absolutely RANK, I couldn't bear to have it on my bed and preferred to be cold than risk having it near me.

Liked: i like the property's location, that there were free linens provided and that the rooms were lowly-priced.

Disliked: I disliked the poor quality of the free breakfast provided, the limited wifi (it was only accessible in the common corridors and not in the room), and the very cramped and slightly dirty rooms i stayed in.

Liked: Very nice place, split into two types of accommodation (both Hotel and Hostel). Very helpful staff and even kept our bags on the day we left so we could see other things within London.

Disliked: Did not need towels as we where staying in the Hotel part, more information about this would have been better as we brought our own (space taken up in bags).

Liked: Its in a good Location. There is good free wifi.

Disliked: Usual London bordell with no attenttion payed to the design of the rooms and not very clean. You fix your own sheets and when I turned up i had no idea which bed i could take as every one including the free ones were in a mess. rubbish bathroom. Had a wash instead of having a real shower. Yes guys can be fussy too. Id rather you just include the locker price in with the room. Feels knit picky to have to shell out for each item. Free good wifi saves you.

Disliked: 5% surcharge on credit or debit card payments. Have to cancel by 10am. I didn't know until 5pm that I wouldn't need my second day. But I was still charged. I've never come across this in a hostel. A waste of money and I will not stay here again. 3 storey bed bunks - what?

Liked: The bathrooms are excellent! Decent size and there is always hot water!

Disliked: There is no lift, so is a bit inconvenient lugging your suitcase up the stairs. Other than that no complaints at all!

Liked: reception area very welcoming, staff were fabulous, very friendly and helpful! The dining room and lounge room were great, cramped but functional. And the laundry facility a godsend!

Disliked: Room was very small but functional and we only needed to sleep (but travelling with kids they do need a bit more floorspace to play). the bathroom and the floor in the bedroom hadn't been cleaned at all well. Small bits of rubbish and dirt under the radiator and all along the edges of the beds at the bottom and all along the edges of the walls. I actually went and borrowed a dustpan from reception (telling them the kids had made a mess but this wasn't true) as I didn't want the kids on the floor until it was a bit cleaner. Really I wanted to scrub the bathroom before going in there - the floor really was dirty and needed mopping and the sanitaryware really did need cleaning much better the curtain in the room was broken and hanging off We were given a ground floor room which was very noisy - I had asked if we could have a higher room so that we wouldn't have so much street noise. It was difficult for the children to sleep. BUT no noise from other hostel guests which was great

Disliked: 2 drunk and noisy bulgarian men as roomates but I'm quite sure it was unluck. The rest of the guests seemed to be good people!

Liked: Location is fantastic and the bed curtains are a great idea!

Disliked: The rooms are absolutely tiny and it's hard to move around over everyone's bags. I stayed in summer and the tiny room was a sweat box, so hot!!! I booked for a 4 bed dorm and when I checked in they put me in a 6 bed. It was only when I queried it that they said they had overbooked the 4 bed rooms and so offered to give me a locker for free. That was beside the point!!! Breakfast was very average. If u get a bed facing the main road it's really noisy too.

Liked: i think it is a safe place, and there are bed curtains to help you sleep better.

Disliked: no kitchen!!!! this is the most unconvinient point!!! and the entrance is not at the location which the description mentioned. and there is no common bathroom, you can only wait for the person who is using the ensuite bathroom.

Liked: Everything was great. The staff were very helpful i ended up staying 4 more days here due to location and the easy going feel of the place

Disliked: The rooms were small, but this didn't bother me, im happy as long as i have a bed.

Liked: It is not too bad ,very convinient location ,not far from city center and just a stone throw to hyde park and Portobello

Disliked: There was so many noisy young weekenders! The bunk beds are way too small I would say!

Liked: Great staff and great bar available. Close to Underground and very close to Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, and all the central London sights.

Disliked: Staff providing breakfast could be a little more flexible and nicer. Bedrooms need to be either bigger or less beds - hard to walk around without stepping on peoples bags and stuff. Rooms also offer no ventilation, otherwise great privacy with curtins. Hostel is great at offering what you need and great customer service, but is a bit over priced, otherwise well reccomended!!
