Liked: Great staff!! So friendly! The girl from nsw is super helpful! Place is well Located, safe and clean! Free wifi and a computer big plus!

Disliked: slightly pricey, but thats London for you!

Liked: Nice calm atmosphere, on a quiet street. Triple bunk beds but normal for London. Slept comfortably. Staff is fun and friendly. Enjoyed walking to Oxford Street and Hyde Park.

Disliked: Nothing. I wish London hostel's could be cheaper, but there is nothing to be done about that.

Liked: the staff are the friendliest i have ever met and the hostel is cleaned twice dailey so it was never messy. bar downstairs with cheap drinks was a bonus!

Liked: the staff were very helpful with any questions we had about good places to eat, or directions around london. Also staff took the time to help us find a post office to send things home

Disliked: When we arrived we had to wait for the room to be made up but once we made it in the room still wasn't made and wouldn't be till 6pm so we couldn't have a nap. Also the shower facilities were all broken on the level we were on, so we ended up waiting till our next hostel to shower, and the level smelt like one of the plumbing pipes had backed up

Liked: Immediately the staff's friendliness put me at ease. There was free tea and coffee, 2 large grudges and a microwave that could be used. Our room was fine with 3 bunk beds and large lockers. The showers were clean and one was fixed whilst I wax there. We hired the towels which were lovely and clean and the bedding was fresh (and already made). Very close to edgeware rd station (website claims up to 5 min walk- id say more like 2). Great place- will definately return. N

Liked: I left my phone behind and Matt, one of the friendly staff, organised for the phone to be sent back to Australia. Went out of his way to help me even though i called him from Australia after i realised i left my phone behind. great location, only 10min walk to oxford street

Liked: I was having a bit of a hard day and then I was welcomed very nicely by Sam and Matt two lovely staff members. They made my day better. I also met some fellow hostelers Becca, Claire and Johnny who made me feel very welcome.

Disliked: Compared to other hostels I have been in it was very clean but a bit damp and chilly in some rooms. My bed was by a window and it got quite damp.

Liked: Great, friendly, helpful staff. We ended up extending our stay for an extra 3 nights at the Pheonix. Great atmosphere and cheap, good berakfast for 1.50 pounds.

Disliked: Could improve cleanliness.

Liked: staff were friendly, the breakfast was great

Disliked: the showers, we were on the 3rd level, and both were out of serviced, which looked like they had been for some time, one on the second level was also out of order so there was literally 3 showers for the 100ppl that were staying there. The 3 level bunks were crap and squeaky, you couldnt sit up because you would hit the ceiling

Liked: The location was quite good, just a few minutes walk from the Underground station, and a 20 minute stroll to Oxford Street. The staff were helpful, if a little odd.. I would only recommend this hostel as a last-resort booking - in this situation it's bearable.

Disliked: The WC/Showers are poor - very small and damp, and the smell in the hallways because of this is not pleasant! The WiFi is terrible - very slow (this is not an exaggeration!) The staff were helpful, but I found them quite odd as well - hard to explain how exactly, I just found them a little strange.

Liked: The phoenix has a great vibe and is a great place where solo travelers can stay and have a great time. The staff at Phoenix are excellent and always willing to help you where possible or even have a chat especially matt who is always good for a beer after his shift is over. The Phoenix is in a good location and only a 3-5 min walk to the station and even less to a supermarket. I would Stay here again, all the staff especially matt , Scott and sam do a great job behind the bar. The hostel is clean and sleeping was not an issue here.

Disliked: aside from a few showers which were being Renovated the hostel is well equipped and even with maintenance there was always one available.

Liked: It's part of/above a nice, cosy pub, where the hostel/pub staff serves cheap drinks. The hosts, Scott and others, are very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Basic facilities, but all you need.

Liked: Close to tube station and a good little cafe (definitely go to this cafe - it's on the corner of the street that the hostel is on - good, cheap breakfast and friendly staff!). The laundromat was only a couple of minutes walk which was handy.

Disliked: The place had a bad odour throughout it. One of the staff members was quite rude - we had booked a private room in this hostel, and while this particular staff member was off duty, questioned (right in front of us) why anyone would book a private room and thought it was "stupid" (however the female Australian staff member was friendly and helpful). Although very close to a tube station, it was still about a 15-20 minute tube ride to most major destinations. Internet did not work in rooms, so laptops had to be taken down to the reception area.

Liked: Sam was great, Scott was always helpful with directions, Stacey always smiled and pulls perfect pints, Matt was so funny and kind. The toilets always smelled of lemon and sometimes lavender, big breakfast for a small price, big plasma tv, xbox, fridge for your groceries, 24 hour security, no curfew, pumping common room with taps for continental and British ales, wifi never cuts out which is a plus, computer /printer media suite in the common room, good location, other travelers were good to talk to, superb standard.

Disliked: Zero.

Liked: the bar area was good. cheap breakfast. Matt was very helpful and a top guy!! he was the best part about this hostel!

Disliked: bathrooms were not up to standard. lockers in the rooms did not work, most of them didnt fit any keys we were given, scott gave us a key to the locker that already had someone elses stuff in it. not very safe!

Liked: Brilliant staff, location and facilities to store your own food. Beds are really comfy and fellow travellers are really friendly,

Disliked: Theres nothing to dislike about this property, maybe needs a bit of colour (my personal opinion as a keen decorator)
