Liked: the hostel is very close to local ammenities, its 5 mins from 2 tube station which is very handy, the location is definetly a plus. The staff were superb, the hostel has a very laid back and cosy atmosphere, ill definetly be staying there again!

Disliked: you have to smoke down the end of the street, due to noise issues

Liked: friendly staff, cleaned often and bar discounts! also close to many tube lines and buses, made sightseeing very easy

Liked: its in a great area i used to visit alot last year its good value for what you pay and it clean. manager was good too

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, good location

Disliked: Not enough facilities, not always clean, loud doors due to unusual (but practical) locking system, waking you up whenever someone comes or goes, breakfast not included in the price, double room very small, just enough for a bed and the suitcase

Liked: There's a lively and fun atmosphere in the hostel, rooms and bathrooms are cleaned to an excellent standard!!!

Disliked: there were noisy roomates!

Liked: Staff were very friendly, Scott behind the desk was helpful! Location suited me and the downstairs area was good with the tv, bar and couches.

Disliked: No kitchen or laundry.

Liked: The pheonix was a really nice hostel, they had a nice bar area and Scott the bartender was very helpfull and gave me lots of tips about London, Clean and hot showers were also a good change from other london hostels

Liked: The bathrooms were cleaned frequently.

Disliked: My laptop was stolen from my locker inside my dorm at this hostel. The hostel staff were not at all interested in helping me retrieve it. They didn't put up my note offering a reward for it, and said they would ask the other people in the room- but didn't. I was told they "didn't want other guests to know that a theft had occured", to protect the image of the hostel. I know they aren't responsible, but they really could have done a lot more to help me TRY and get it back.

Liked: It's near the metro-station and not too expensive.

Disliked: The rooms are very small and badly kept. The showers are small and mostly outdated. Breakfast was horrible, moldy bread and questionable cheese and meat...The hostel is oke but badly kept.

Liked: Good value for money. Clean bathrooms, quiet area.

Disliked: Not much floor space in room. There's no kitchen or eating area, and the communal living area is wierd cause it's also a pub. Not a great place to meet other people/.

Liked: Pretty central location, good accessibility. Enough showers and toilets. Staff are friendly and try to be helpful.

Disliked: Showers and toilets are badly built and the seams are mouldy. They are cleaned daily, but superficially. Also, water pressure is virtually nonexistant. Once, the hot water gave out and I had to shower in cold water. The room (double private room) was tiny, the bed was big enough but the duvet was too small for two people and the matress springs poked me. Heaters were on full-blast all the time without any means of regulating the temperature, so the windows had to be kept open to cool things off. Windows and doors rattle and you can hear anything going on in the hall and sometimes even the other rooms.
