Liked: I like the atmosphere of the living room, the bar, and it`s location is quite good. Everything`s close. The staff was kind and helpful, made this visit pleasant. A perfect place to meet people, relax, and get comfortable with London, whatever might be Your reason for staying. I definately recommend Phoenix hostel. Liked: Hostel was in a good location, close to two tube stations; and many places were in walking distance. Staff were really helpful (especially Stuart). Breakfast was cheap (1.50), free wifi, and the bar downstairs was a good place to chill out.

Disliked: Rooms were quite small (although I think this is normal in London)

Liked: The location is just about the best thing about this hostel. There is free internet, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't work properly all the time.

Disliked: It was rather dirty and cold and if you want to recharge your phone, laptop or sth, you have to do it at the reception, because most rooms don't have electricity plugs. The bathrooms are incredibly small and not very clean. And there is no kitchen, just a fridge and a microwave.

Liked: Staff are friendly but not professional.

Disliked: Security is definitely an issue at this hostel. Had my laptop, flight tickets, eurail and passport all stolen from one of the supplied lockers at the hostel. Locker was smashed open and no cctv footage was available of people walking in and out. wouldn't wish for this to happen to anyone else.

Liked: Decent location close to the subway. Staff were friendly and happy to help with areas within their expertise. Good bar/pub downstairs.

Disliked: Small rooms, difficult to move around when there's little room for suitcases (at least without careful coordination with other guests). Rooms looked clean at first appearance but were not upon closer inspection; e.g. put backpack underneath the bed and it came out covered in dust. Some (but not all) bathrooms were also small and/or gross (e.g. superficial cleaning leading to hair, dust, etc in the bathroom's crannies). No plugs in the bathrooms to allow shaving, etc (at least in the bathrooms I used). The provided free Wi-Fi internet access did not work well; it dropped out on numerous occasions, often for long periods of time, and staff either didn't know how to fix it or didn't care. One of our group came home one morning to a rude surprise: another guest was sleeping in his bed! The room had been overbooked. He was moved to an emergency bed in a different room. This should not happen if the administration system is well thought-out and records are maintained properly. Some basic services are not free, e.g. luggage storage pre-check in and post-check out. Overall, we felt like the experience could have been so much better if the basics were attended to: clean the rooms and bathrooms with better attention to detail, improve the wireless internet, manage the bookings competently. We know from experience that other hostels in London are much better value for money, and upon expiration of our booked stay we happily took our business elsewhere.

Disliked: The room was dirty and small.Bed is really small and not comfortable. The bathroom was really dirty and old.The stuff is not helpful.

Liked: Excellent hostel especially for the price. Friendly and helpful staff, the rooms and bathrooms were always clean, and a really good atmosphere, not to mention one of the best located hostels for travelling around london. Will definitely be staying again. A real pleasure to stay here.

Disliked: Limited kitchen facilities but for the price you can't complain. Besides, with the money you save on the accommodation you can afford to eat out.

Liked: I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff are very helpful and add to the overall pleasent atmosphere. The hostel is a good size, its small enough to meet everyone and for the staff to remember your name. the hostel was also very very clean!

Liked: Its a vry good place and its vry close to all tubes buses and u can easily save time if u stay here bcoz everything (madam tussad london eye etc )is close to this hostel. Its a perfect place.......

Disliked: I would say that to improve breakfast bcoz when i done breakfast it was nt vry good specially i had tea and my frnd had coffe it was just cold tea and cold coffe it was nt vry good. hope nxt time it would be better apart then that everything was fine

Liked: Good Location, fabulous Atmosphere, nice easy going place to stay everyone was friendly and there was always someone on reception which is always nice, nice cheap breakfast as well.

Liked: the location is perfect. close to three different tube stations and many buses and a short walk from the wax museum. there are heaps of great places to eat close by and the staff are helpful with suggestions and directions. the hostel is always clean and has cheap drinks!
