Liked: Very close to a tube station; friendly and helpful staff; good facilities, such as enough showers, toilets, etc.

Disliked: Only used to hostel as a place to sleep, so have nothing to complain

Liked: The breakfast was good, and the noise from the common area didn't come into the rooms, allowing a good sleep. Scott was really helpful. It was close to the metro line.

Disliked: The showers smelled, probably a sewage problem. Even though they have the main door to get up into the rooms locked for security, I didn't like having to frequently ask them to open it everytime I wanted to get up into the rooms. Sometimes they left it unlocked during the morning, which they should do all day, and lock it during the night time. The beds made noise whenever you sat or moved around in them, as well as the door.

Liked: This was my first time at a hostel and I had literally no idea what to expect. I was a bit nervous coming in and chose the place based on reviews. Everyone in my room was really decent and friendly and within minutes I felt totally at ease as if Id known these people for ages. The hostel is essentially a bar as soon as you walk in, with all the rooms upstairs. Night time was quiet - literally no noise in my room of 8 people altogether, and it got silent by about 11pm. Toilets were small, but thats insignificant as it isn't supposed to be the main attraction. The people I met were mostly aussies and europeans - everyone spoke English and I had a few drinks with them down at the bar. Everyone was travelling about and staying at the hostel a few days. There were people on their own (about 50%), or in small groups of 2-3. Good gender balance and main age group was 18-mid 20's. Met some great people and would definitely go again! Had a very university bar-like feel to it.

Disliked: Wasn't aware I needed ID on arrival - luckily I had it anyway! Nothing bad about my stay to be honest - for £15 you can't get any better!

Liked: The staff were all super friendly! and the other backpackers were great it had such a homely vibe! I am goig back to London in 3 months and will absoloutly be staying here again. big thanks to Stacey Jonathon Scotty & Jack you guys were awsome and such a laugh! Oh and cant go past a hostel that has a bar with cheap drinks downstairs!

Liked: staff is amazingly friendly. i was had to use their internet to transfer funds into my bank account and they were kind enough to let me hog their computer for a long time. scott was especially helpful giving me advice on how to get around london, and everything i could possibly need to know

Disliked: ummm.....can't think of anything at the moment... my roommate snored.

Liked: All the staff were so helpful, especially Chris, Grimes and Stacey. The room was clean and fresh, and better than I expected for the price, real value for money. the staff were also very helpful withhow to get to places of interestand on of the staff works for a tour company and was able to arrange tours for you at a good price.

Disliked: Nothing it was all good and so close to everything.

Liked: great place to stay everyone was really friendly and the atmosphere was great clean hostel and 1.80£ wine was a bonus thanks for a great stay.Shout out to scott who was so much fun and really nice.

Liked: Its location was very good to go, and to move on transport.

Liked: Very friendly staff including Scott, he helped me and my friend with everything we needed. It was close to a convenient tube station, and over all a pleasent place to stay

Disliked: The rooms were kind of small, depending on how big your luggage is, but over all, a decent amount of space.

Liked: I had an AMAZING time at Phoenix Hostel, and i would come back for sure. Jack was sooo sweeet and extremely funny. Made my morning!!! <3

Liked: It is quiet and they clean often and it is rear two tube stations. Breakfast is really good for that price.

Disliked: There are two many beds in really tiny dormitories, there could be a couple of toilets more each floor.

Liked: close to marlybone station and large range of breakfast choices

Disliked: not many showers or toilets. Trying to find a sink to just brush your teeth is a mission

Liked: Easy to get to. Good local conveniences. The staff were pleasant on the whole.

Disliked: It's very dirty. It's dark, there's only one soap in the whole place (srs). it's hit and miss whether things work or not, including the wifi and the key to the locker. It's expensive.

Liked: A really great bunch of people running this place. Really friendly.I was in town for an interview and i would much rather stay their than a hotel. Its a proper back packers with a bar for us. And not just some beds above a bar.

Disliked: Shower smelt a bit damp and maybe give downstairs a funky lick of paint around the phenix colours/logo. Still a nice clean place tho.

Liked: 24 hour reception! Arriving at 2am means this was essential. There were never any queues for shower or toilet during my stay. The shared areas could use a facelift but clean.

Disliked: In the14 bed dorm, there are 3 level bunks, and sleeping on the top bunk is a bit like sleeping through a long earthquake. Whenever anyone moves, the top bunk sways. However, it's not unlike a hammock (albeit one that sways constantly). Also the doors are squeaky and bangy which means any time anyone goes in or out, it gets a bit annoying. Good ear plugs are absolute must.
