Liked: Great location, staff is friendly and helpful. Place is safe and secure. Showers are hot and adequate washrooms.

Disliked: Just make sure you bring headphones because the train is pretty loud. Also the beds with creak like mad if you move an inch.

Disliked: Being close to Waterloo station is good for connections, but means the sounds of trains can be heard early in the morning!

Liked: Really friendly atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly!

Disliked: The rooms were cramped and the bathrooms were kind of scattered from floor to floor.

Liked: There is a nice bar, quite a generous breakfast (for a vegetarian like me) and the staff is very helpful and caring. The cleanliness is reasonable, even more than that.

Disliked: It is close to the railway but during the night it is ok. The real problem was a French guy who was using his computer all night long :-(

Liked: Staff *VERY* helpful!!! Thank you Alex, Tony and Isabella!!!!! I arrived very cranky and lost; everyone went out of their way to reassure me and make my stay enjoyable. Able to supply me with US to UK converters when mine wouldn't work. Even lent me a brand new alarm clock when my phone wouldn't work (this was my trip for bad luck)

Disliked: Not a dislike, but a caution if you have difficulty with stairs or noise. This is a three floor walkup (not a problem for me; I went from here to a six floor walkup in Paris.) Also, hostel is located directly under bridge for the Tube, so might bother some. I found it soothing and it lowed me to sleep.

Liked: It has a pub on the main floor.

Disliked: THe place was an older looking place that made it look dirty. Its also near the train station so its very noisy.

Liked: Very close to the London Eye, Big ben, Westminster Abbey, close to subway, bus stops right in front of the hostel. Very friendly staff :)

Liked: Very central location. Very helpful staff. Breakfast included my favourite biscuits. :-) The traffic noise (probably more noticeable than usual because I came during the heatwave and we slept with the window open) had its good sides: It drowned out the light snoring of another traveller. (I don't really mind traffic noise, but I do mind snoring...)

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Amazing staff, amazing location. Staff really cared about you and helped you with WHATEVER you needed. Location could not be better and staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Loved every minute of our stay.

Liked: Incredibly supportive an amazing staff. I went with my parents and aunt in a family trip to London afraid for them dislike staying in hostel rather than Hotel, but it was perfect. Satff amazing, location perfect, clean and honest

Liked: the helpfulness of the staff. They gave us sheets, towels, own keys. Very good atmosphere and safety.

Disliked: We didnt get the beds that we wanted even though that they confirmed to us by email that we were going to receive the 2 beds surrounded by curtains.

Liked: The Walrus is extremely comforting. After visiting different cities and different hostels, their hospitality and friendliness felt genuine. The bar downstairs was as welcoming as the rest of the place. Everything was accurately described.

Disliked: My friend had a hard time sleeping with the sound of the nearby train station. I love the sound of trains, so it didn't phase me.

Liked: All except breakfast was excellent. Actually I expected more wild choice of foods for breakfast but we should remember that it's a hostel not a hotel. So it was not a problem for me. Wi-Fi has a very good signal in bar, I didn't use it a room. Especcially I have to mention a very hospetiable person - Alexander - who welcomed me enthusiastically at night.

Disliked: a poor selection of foods in the morning

Liked: The hotel staff (Alex and the blonde girl) were lovely, charming and very helpful recommending places to visit. Website describes perfectly well the rooms and the facilities. We hadn't got any problem with the other people. Perfectly well located close to Waterloo Station. By the way, the breakfast was awesome.

Disliked: The place is really noisy at night, but that's the disadvantage of being that close to the station. It's not a big issue because you don't really spend much time in the hostel.

Liked: Great place to stay. Peolpe are very friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with my stay in this hostel. I was alone and I met some really nice people. This is a very central place as you are at 5 mins from BigBen! And you have lots of buses and some tube close to it. I'll definitly recommend this place to my family and friends (and to anyone), and I'll probable be back some day.

Disliked: As in any hostel, just think to buy some earplugs for the people who are snorring ;) But this is an hostel so it's normal!

Liked: Alex was great. He helped get setup quickly and without a hitch. Very professional demeanor. The rest of the staff was very helpful.

Disliked: Train tracks were close to hostel but stopped running between midnight and 6am. Honestly i though it was going to be a nightmare to sleep (im a light sleeper), but i was out within 30min both nights around 10 and 11

Liked: We are taking a backpacking trip across 5 countries in Europe and the staff here were unlike any in any other location. They bent over backwards to make us feel at home. For example, the morning of our departure, we had to leave very early (5AM) and someone had to wake up just to check us out. They made sure to call us a cab and wait with us until the cab arrived and understood our final destination. The bar downstairs is a really fun atmosphere and the overall feeling of the hostel is very homey and safe. Great proximity to sights. Very clean as well.

Disliked: Nothing. It was excellent!

Liked: I decided to stay at this hostel when I read the reviews and they prove to be completely right. It is a nice hostel, 5 min walk from Big Ben. The staff is really nice. We had some problems at the beginning of the stay but they were very helpful and the issues were quickly solved.

Disliked: The beds were really squeaky and the linen was a bit dirty.
