Customer reviewWhen I arrived to the Metro Hotel I was so tired. After the stairs with my very heavy luggage and the shocking size of my room, actually it was pretty nice. The breakfast was good, simple. I never intended to be in my room all day long so it was perfect for sleeping and being on your own for a while. I liked it very much and I'll recommend it to my friends in Finland. |

Xiaolan JiWithin 2 minutes' walk to Paddington Tube Station. Hotel is very old and basic. And it has not lift. As it is close to the railway station, I can feel the room shaking when there is train running. Fortunately, the train stops after 11pm. In general, the hotel is OK for staying for one night. |

Customer reviewPerfect location, just a minute from Paddington Rail & Tube stations. If you need to use the Central line, Lancaster Gate station is 5 minutes from the hotel. Nice and helpful staff (my wife was able to borrow a hairdryer; no problems with changing breakfast times, etc.). We had a private room with double bed - room is really small, but has all that's needed - closet, chair, table, sink, cable tv, electric kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, etc.). Room cleaned daily. Wireless internet available for free (you just need to ask for a password). Bathroom is shared, but it was just as it was private; very clean too. Don't expect the full English breakfast - it's basic "continental", but it's served to your room and is included in the room price. If you need more, there's a breakfast-bar just next to the hotel's entrance and a small grocery store on the opposite side of the road. I've rated the hotel low on the scale of "fun place to meet people and party", but for me it's GREAT advantage. It's a very quiet place, so you can rest after a long day in town. Peronally, I tend to choose places which rate as low as possible on the "fun" scale ;-) As for the quietness, the hotel overlooks quite a busy street, but the road noise is not an issue - no need to take ear plugs. Altogether - strongly recommended for people looking for good value for money, private acommodation (no idea on how the shared, larger rooms look like!) with superb location (Hyde Park is few hundred meters away). Enjoy! |

JOAO CECCANTINIThe best is the location, very nice. From Paddington Station people can go everywhere very easily and around the hostel restaurants and pubs are cheaper than in other places. |
