Liked: It is very close to all the main tourist attractions of London and a wonderful place to stay. 8th best hotel in london at trip advisor. Very very calm road in front of the hotel and because of the many fire doors, thanks to the modern building, sounds of the corridor don't go very far. Close to the stop of the Easybus.co.uk from stansted airport ,which is less expensive than the stansted express, and the big bus stop of oxford circus. Room was very clean and large enough for our group of 4 persons. Friendly reception and good prices at the bar/resto. Next time I'll probably book at YHA central london again!

Disliked: I had some difficulties with finding out how the douche worked and maybe they could put something on the website that in England the plugs are different, but I guess everybody knew that except us.

Liked: This property was in a good location near the BT tower and a short walk from Oxford Street. The street was fairly quiet and felt safe and there is a supermarket and tube station in easy reach. People at this hostel were very friendly for a city hostel and I chatted to people from all over the world. Cleanliness in the bedrooms was good. Activities and special offers like pub crawls and theatre tickets were advertised so it felt quite sociable. There is also a kitchen you can use which has good facilities, although I only really used the microwave, but the option is there! In the reception area there are also some books and games you can borrow if you forgot any entertainment.

Disliked: The shower wasn't as clean in the mornings as it was at night but that is to be expected with a lot of people using it, and it was never bad. On the last night I had a room to myself until 2am when a load of noisy Spanish people arrived. Because there is a 24 hour reception people can come in at any time, but I feel the staff should have asked them to be courteous to other guests in the room.

Disliked: * there was extra fee 3£ per person per night (max £10/person) that I didn't notice while booking (but it's there in the description of hostel). * breakfast could have included both fruit and yougurt ;-)

Disliked: Food relatively expensive. The common area doesn't have a lot of space for just relaxing.

Liked: Atmosphere and common areas, people were generally friendly, generally good services available

Disliked: The bathrooms. The floor actually dips away from the shower, and when the shower is not closed off by any means other than a shower curtain, flooding occurs all too easily. The bathroom also stank terribly, requiring the window to be open at all times, and any extended stay in there unpalatable. No free wifi, and range only really extends over the main common area and no further.

Liked: Young, freindly and very helpfull staff. And from various countries , which is a good thing. The recycling and environmetal "theme" is good. We try to do it ourselves at home as much as possible.

Disliked: Our room anyway, had a bad smell in the bathroom. The "Family room" for 4 persons were too small. You could not do anything in there. All 4 of us could not stand on the floorspace at the same time.

Liked: Within walking distance to a tube station (Great Portland Street) and rail station (Euston) and shopping district - Oxford Street. Clean rooms, toilets and showers. Functional kitchen and food storage areas.

Liked: it was very central.

Disliked: There was too much old people. This hostel works with membership program. So you should pay more when you arrive for membership card.

Liked: The room is clean, small but functional. the kitchen is well organised and very clean!

Disliked: you need to have switch on the heater early in the private room, if you want to take a hot shower!

Liked: It was very well-located and the staff was incredibly helpful.

Disliked: There were a lot of hidden fees. The price quoted was with a membership, which costs an additional ten pounds. Using the internet, which is only available in the lobby, is also an additional cost. In order to use the lockers, you must provide your own lock or purchase one at the desk.

Liked: You can regulate the heating in your room and also open the window (in comparison to YHA St. Pancras which only has air conditioning and non-opening windows ... at least in the rooms I' ve stayed in). Fantastic value for money ... on the same street is an ugly looking Holiday Inn where we went in out of interest to check the prices ... cheapest: £240 for a room! The YHA Central looks very pretty from the outside and has all the comfort you need! I love the hard mattresses on the beds. Very friendly staff who was interested in every single customer! Great service that there are 3 staff at the reception ... at the Holiday Inn we had to wait ages to ask the 1 staff a question! It even felt quiet safe to walk on Bolsover Street at night, it is well lit. It's a great location, also close to some green in Regent's Park.

Liked: Had a good reception/common area. Staff were nice. Was clean. Good kitchen. Pretty decent location, close to Oxford St.

Disliked: Had to pay for wifi, the 8 bed dorm was cramped to the max, there were only 2 toilets and 2 showers per floor for who know's how many people.
