Liked: Hostel in old court house and has all the stuff a good hostel needs. Its a bit of a maze. And don't book a privert room if your a couple as these rooms are the old cells. And they are very hot and very small, not enough room for two adults and 2 bags.

Disliked: The cells are far to small for 2 people

Liked: Lovely building - Late Bar - Good Staff - Clean Facilities - Excellent Location

Disliked: No lockers in my room - separate lockers elsewhere but not really a big problem but one that would improve an otherwise excellent hostel

Liked: It is a nice property, very big, plenty to do, met lots of good people here and would recommend even when my own experience was simply awful.

Disliked: This was the single most awful experience I ever had, but not to blame the staff or the building, just a series of events. The beds are unreasonably high with a ladder built for a 5 year old, the first morning I fell about 4 foot because I couldn't find the rung of the ladder. The lad in the bed next to me was nearly in my bed because he too had to step onto my bed to get in his own. This made me uncomfortable, I was the only female in a mixed dorm of 7 other boys/young men. I didn't sleep much that night. I moved rooms, only to be kept awake by a room full of 18 year olds, shouting screaming and swearing till gone 3am, again got no sleep. Security came to the room, but only 3-4 hrs sleep again. Didn't think the final night could be any worse but it was. At about midnight one of the boys decided to throw up in the sink except he missed, I stayed in bed till about 2am, couldn't sleep worried about all my stuff, the stench was making me ill, got dressed and again NO SLEEP and sat in the TV lounge till breakfast time. Got an earlier bus home because I was totally knackered. So horrific experience especially when I was attending a pre-med school course all weekend, will definitely never return but other people I met had a good time. The staff were helpful but this was a series of one disaster after another. I have stayed in hostels for over 10 years and never had a bad experience until this weekend just gone.

Liked: I enjoyed the bar and social area. Friendly staff. I was lucky to be in a very well-behaved dorm although I understand others weren't so lucky. Showers were clean and you could hang up clothes and bag without getting them wet. Comfy clean beds.

Disliked: Took an age to actually find my dorm as i was directed the wrong way by the receptionist who gave me my key card - I was traipsing up and down stairs with a heavy backpack on. Other than that little whinge, this was my first experience in a hostel and it was very positive.

Liked: Really liked the helpful staff.

Disliked: Way too loud. I was on the bottom floor down the hall from the bar. Separated by only one door. There was a tremendous amount of traffic through this door, and every time it was opened, the music from the club would get really loud. Also, tons of drinks would come through this door and be screaming to each other and just generally being disrespectful. I had one of the worst nights of my life there because I was jetlagged and up all day. The noise alone is the reason I would not recommend this to anyone else.

Liked: This place is good if you want to be close to St Pancras/Kings X station. Breakfast is free. I can't really say its good for much else.

Disliked: It feels like a big, impersonal hostel. There were 2 showers for a whole floor of girls. Those showers that you have to keep pressing the button every 30 seconds to keep it going. The rooms were SO hot and stuffy, it was like a sauna in there! And the window only opens a crack. There are key cards for the rooms, but no lockers. We had a girls only dorm, but there were definitely some guys there in the morning! Very crowded rooms. Unhelpful "info room" staff. Crazy expensive internet. There are better places out there. Book ahead!

Liked: Well equipped kitchen

Disliked: The worst hostel I've stayed at in a long time. Very dirty room - overflowing rubbish bin, pile of rubbish in the corner and on the window sill, ants in the room. Worst nights sleep I've had in a long time due to proximity of the main road; windows had to be kept open due to poor ventilation so noise is a huge problem even on a Monday night. Not enough toilets or showers for the number of people staying there. Could not locate the personal safe boxes advertised. Not enough lockers for everyone. WIFI is charged at GBP2 per hour. Had to ask for bedsheets.

Liked: Helpful staff, close proximity to Kings Cross station, TV room and internet lounge were really cool.

Disliked: The shower setup was the worst I have encountered in 3 months of travelling (including through South America). No secure place to hang your stuff means you have no choice but to take it into the stall with you and hang it on the back of the door - which is fine, except the showerheads are fixed and spray straight onto your stuff. Plus they're hot water only showers, which is lovely in summer!

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were busy. The area was relatively secure with access cards, as well as resonably priced ultra secure digital lockers. My dorm was clean and tidy and bunks were divided from the adjecent to give sufficient privacy. Theer was plenty of free and tasty breakfast which I was very pleased about, and baggage storage after check out was free! I was very happy with my stay

Disliked: I would say there certainly werent enough showers for the number of people per floor at "rush hours"
