Disliked: The YHA is relatively far from city centre. The travel takes about 30 minutes.

Liked: Had excellent facilities in the room, as well as being in an excellent part of London. Not too close, and not too far.

Disliked: Seemed too clean and new for my tastes. If one wants an old world feel, there is much to be desired. That should not dissuade one if it's clean functioning facilities that are on offer.

Liked: the beds were comfy and staff were friendly :)

Disliked: the hidden £3 extra charge per person per night, i thought that was really cheeky and they should just add it onto the price because it is a good hostel and i would still go there again but the staff even look uncomfortable when asking for it.

Liked: they gave me a 4bed room instead of a 6bed-room, and thats positive ;)

Disliked: they make money of everything and charge a 3 GBP "non-membership-fee", which is not mentioned anywhere.

Liked: The staff are friendly and helpful. I came in at 10am and check-in is 2pm, but I explained my particular situation and I was allowed to check in. This was very good.

Disliked: the facilities on offer are poorer than most other hostels. At the prices they charge i expected more. Breakfast was charged at £4-£6, internet was astronomically expensive and very little to offer in terms of entertainment. The location is poor, the neighbourhood is dodgy ( I even witnessed a crime!) and I would only go back if there was no other alternative. There was no means of reserving my bed space unlike other hostels, which I found annoying and as I expected my room mate took the liberty to change his bed twice in the night.

Disliked: They try to get money out of you for EVERYTHING, 20£ per nigth and they dont include breakfast, its 5£!!

Liked: they had a laundry, kitchen and everything was clean.

Disliked: the staff were very unhelpful and the price advertised on hostebookers wasn't advertised as being only for YHA members.

Liked: Dispite some serious down falls (read below)..... at £12 a night this hostel is good value. Most other hostels in the west-end are approx £25-£30 a night, so you can save some dosh by staying a bit further out. The hostel is located in zone 2, so is not exactly in the heart of the west-end, but a very nice walk along the Thames Path , besides the river Thames is only moments away from the hostel & you can walk to the Tower of London in under an hour (that is if you dont stop off at the numerous pubs along the way!) Rotherthithe Over ground station is only a 6 minute walk away. The hostel does have a communal kitchen & TV room, which whilst i did not use them , appeared in good condition.

Disliked: For a YHA, the dorms were filthy & i noticed that housekeeping would only remove sheets on used beds in each day. The bin was only emptied when overflowing & the room was never vacummed dispite crying for a good vaccum. Internet pricing is a complete rip-off, if you have a lap-top my recommendation is to find a pub with free wi-fi, & beat the YHA rip-off pricing structure for the internet internet. This hostel uses 3 tier bunk beds, thats rights 3 beds per Bunk........ the pictures dont show you this.

Liked: In nice residential area, not hard to get to from london overground + had a bus stop right in front of it

Disliked: charged money for EVERYTHING, which I wasn't expecting: towel, breakfast, luggage storage (!!!), internet, and non-yha-member fees on top of that. If I'd realized how much the extras would cost, I would've found somewhere more convenient to central London.
