Liked: Could have been cleaned more often, but this is your standard hostel experience. Lots of waiting for the bathroom, squeaky, vaguely uncomfortable beds, generic breakfast, etc. However, the location is great - close to the metro and a short walk downtown - and its cheap. Those two key factors that make this hostel recommended for laid-back people who don't spend a lot of time in the hostel itself, and just need a fairly comfortable place to pass out.

Liked: Dover Castle is a nice hostel, though it could be cleaner. The location is good, because it's only one minute walk to the underground and the staff was friendly!

Liked: the staff were very helpful. there was a gap in the windows allowing cold air and lots of noise to come in. there was no mirror for shaving. the beds were squeky and not very comfortable

Liked: The location is brilliant. It has his own bar and you can prepare your meal in a shared kitchen.The staff was very friendly and this hostel is very good place to meet people of your own age (18-35).

Liked: good location. nice bar. good atmosphere in the kitchen, hosts and guests are friendly. free wifi. probably the cheapest hostel in london.breakfast is not very good. people smoke in some of the toilets. rooms are like oldschool dormitories, i think they should use carpets. there are no lockers or shelves in the rooms, you have to put your staff on the floor. bathroom facilities are not enough.however, that's a good choice for a cheap stay in london.

Liked: Loved the staff, loved the guests, loved the atmosphere. It´s cheap and therefore not the most fancy hostel you can get but the spirit of the house and the staff weigh much more. I loved the stay with all its pros and cons. The showers aren´t that good and there´s only one in each floor and one of the floors has up to 24 people but they keep everything clean and I never had to wait that long to get the shower. So if you want a cheap hostel with great people and don´t mind that it´s not spotless then I definatly reccomend it :)

Liked: I stayed 11 nights at Dover and I'll definately stay there again. For only 98.99 pounds for these 11 nights I was very happy, even if the showers kinda sucked. There are a few bad things I could say about Dover but the point is that it's the cheapest I found, the location is great, the staff is great, the atmosphere is great and I had a great time. I would recommend this to young travellers because it's really fun.Thanks Dover Castle <3

Liked: It was 1 minute walk from Borough tube station.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Unfortunately, the matresses and beds are very noisy and uncomfortable.There is one shower room for 48 people, per floor. This contains two showers but is not suitable for anyone who wishes to shower privately.I stored my luggage in the luggage room but required no identification to collect it again - I could have been anyone!I hope they change the door codes on a regular basis.

Liked: Really cheap and in a good location. I was woken up in the middle of the night as the recptionist had double-booked the bed which was really annoying! Overall a good stay though.

Liked: Cheap place and good location, but very poor breakfast, loud music coming from the downstairs bar up until 3am every night making it impossible to sleep, not enough curtains to keep the light out, not enough heating and/or insolation making the rooms really cold to sleep in; only one bathroom and toilets per floor, that weren't ever clean the whole stay (in 3 days!!), water boiling hot in the shower - pretty impossible to take a good shower then; no paper in the toilets for at least a day...

Liked: The property was in a good location and easy to find right near Borough tube station. The staff were mostly friendly and it was very safe. The showers were not the best, but for the price you couldn't complain.

Liked: Dover Castle is a great place to stay. The rooms are pretty small but reasonably comfortable. Showers are very small and only two per floor, and shared between all genders on that floor. Hot water is readily available and bathrooms and showers and rooms are cleaned daily. Kitchen facilities are good and very clean. Free luggage is useful as is free wifi which you can access in most rooms (plus bar and kitchen).breakfast is toast and one type of cereal but is sufficient as its free. Good value for money and reasonably close to London bridge, tower bridge and tower of London.
