Can be a place to meet people and travel together and a starting point to go hiking or cycling in the area. It's close to the town centre and not far from the bus station.

Very friendly welcome and very helpful staff. I had a very pleasant stay here. It was nice to sit in the lounge with the fire and chat to a few others staying there. Good location to the town centre.

Very friendly, comfortable, family run. Ideal location near shops, but also close to lake Windermere and country walks. We had a great view out of our window. The beds were comfortable and even the showers were not bad.

Internet was free. You could watch Sky TV in the main area, which basically sucked! The town of Ambleside is quite a posh town, or rather ski town with no comercialization whatsoever, so don't think you can go to a fastfood joint.
