Liked: Excellent base for hiking in the mountains in the district. Drying room definitely a plus with rainy weather not uncommon. Friendly staff.

Disliked: Not such a great place for meeting people, with mostly groups planning hiking trips or talking among themselves staying here. Also three different common areas (including kitchen, eating area and lounge) disperses the guests. Finally, annoying that you're asked to leave during the middle of the day so they can clean. Why don't they just tell you they'll be cleaning during those hours and work around the guests like every other hostel does?

Liked: The location was great and the room I stayed in very clean. Felt like my luggage was safe there also.

Disliked: The breakfast set up - as the kitchen got very busy at breakfast time and was rather crowded.

Liked: You could not stay at a better place in Ambleside. There are several areas around The Lake District and this is one of the best! A quaint little town with tons of options for trekking and exploring the trails around the area. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Facilities well cared for and clean.

Disliked: Policy to leave the hostel mid morning to early afternoon could be a surprise to some... but understandable because you should be out exploring the area!

Liked: The building was quite nice and very easy to get to from the bus stop. The breakfast was good and overall I definitely enjoyed my stay. My only complaint was that you cannot leave bags at the hostel if you arrive before check-in, because no one is at the reception desk in the afternoon. However you could leave bags there for the day after you check-out.

Liked: Very nice hostel in the heart of Ambleside. Excellent base to explore the Lake District. Staff was helpful und friendly.Big kitchen with tea and coffee available all day. Breakfast with toast, marmelade and cereals.

Liked: this is a clean hostel near the main bus stop of Ambleside. the owners are a couple who are very friend. the only problem is the facilities are old cos this proverty was built on 19th century.

Liked: The perfect opt to people if you travel alone. Actually, it is quite easy to find that and the locatio nis quite convenient. The view from the room I located is quite great. And the owners are pretty nice; they are willing to provide many local information, and the information they provided is quite helpful to my travel. Basically, it is a place i would like to highly recommend.
