Liked: It was quiet when we were there which made it a lovely peaceful start to our holiday. The position was beautiful and restful.
Disliked: The bunks were rather wobbly and so squeaked a lot. Quite a few of the bed side lights were not working. Fortunately with it being quiet we were able to chose beds in the room which were relatively quiet and had a bedside light. These were minor though and we loved our stay.

Liked: Nice gardens
Disliked: staff charged extra fee on arrival for not being YHA member. All Internet plus wifi is 4 pounds per hour A long walk along narrow roads from nearest town Beds hard and squeaky

Liked: cool mansion house right on the lakeside with lovely gardens just out of cute village of hawkshead. would be difficult to stay here without a car.
