Liked: Great place to stay when getting in late or leaving early from Standsted airport. The owner and staff made everything super easy for us, especially when our plane was delayed and we arrived at 3.30am! Make sure you head to the carvery near the train station, good times!

Disliked: Filter coffee would have saved my life!!

Liked: Staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms in the main building and rooms were kept very clean (bathrooms in the annex were less so), though there was a smell of mould and damp in the corridors. The place was reasonably secure - the exterior doors have a code, giving you 24-hour access, and rooms have individual locked doors and keys. We asked for a 3-bed private room and got a 4-bed and then a 5-bed dorm to ourselves; the 5-bed room was large, with a desk and a couple of chairs. A computer with internet access and a cable to plug your laptop into is provided in the common room for free (Internet access was super fast). Breakfast is provided - a selection of cereals, tea, a few condiments. Milk and basic supplies are available for purchase. The single male shower (see below) was clean and hot. There's a large sci-fi book collection to read or swap. A large inflatable Dalek is available.

Disliked: The property is split into a main building and an annex, with a few more rooms. Unfortunately, the annex has no showers as I understand there's currently renovations under way - there's only one shower for each gender, located in the main building. This means if your room is in the annex you're walking outside through the rain each morning. The annex does however have a couple of sinks and toilets. These toilets were very much a construction zone, and didn't feel all that clean. None of the bathrooms had soap available, unfortunately, and perhaps half the basins didn't have mirrors.

Liked: Lovely location with a pub opposite but very quiet and rura with a lovely garden area whilst being very close to train station

Liked: Good beds for sleeping. Close to both Stansted Airport (15 min. by train) and London (30 min. by train) and also the city of Harlow. Nice park and surroundings.

Liked: it seems a little bit old but it is clean and calm but close to the station so itis easy to go to cambridge and london. Beds are confortable, we had a TV set in the bed room and the owner of the hostel are friendly and give good advice.
