Disliked: dirty .... young kids staying there that look like they are homeless and in a half way house situation

Liked: The rooms were clean.

Disliked: We were very badly by staff, who were rude and inconsiderate. We were cheated into paying extra cost for damages not made by us. The owner is a sly character and cheats you by taking your debit card security number. We would suggest not to stay here by any means because it was a very unpleasant experience... and he is a racist!!

Liked: In a central location with restaurants and shops a few minutes walk. Ilfracombe close to beautiful beaches. Coastal path access close by. Owner and other staff very friendly. Very comfortable room. Well equipped kitchen. Amazing value for money.

Disliked: Parking restriction in road where hostel situated. Free on road parking a few roads away which could be an issue at the busiest times of year.

Liked: This place was super clean, so clean I had a bath!

Liked: Fully equipped kitchen, free tea/coffee, friendly managers

Disliked: Some of the beds were a little bit creaky, but the mattresses were comfortable nonetheless and still had a good nights sleep,

Liked: Very nice old building with lots of character. Friendly owner. Tea and coffee available to use in the kitchen which is always a bonus.

Disliked: Some of the other guests were a little noisy when coming back in the early hours, they stopped to have a conversation right outside our door.

Liked: Easy to find ideal for those cycling NCR 27 Secure place for bikes. Convenient for the town centre. Free use of internet available. Good kitchen facilities. Also very near to an all-day breakfast cafe.

Disliked: The interior of the hostel could do with a lick of paint here and there.

Liked: People are very friendly and the place is cosy, easy to reach with a car, close to Exmoor and the sea.

Disliked: I don't like carpets in bathrooms;-)

Liked: Owners were really friendly and down to earth,made you feel like you were staying at a mate's for the weekend. It felt more like a guest house than a hostel. Is really good location for surf in woolacombe and croyd bay, nice and cheap but didn't feel it.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Very nice welcoming, clean bright rooms, closenest to the centre of the city. Free internet, free coffee. Would stay there again. Would recommend it to all !

Liked: It has great character and it was a great place to relax. The owners Lisa and Mark were wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. Although it is a backpackers it had a lovely warm atmosphere and it felt like you were staying in someone's home and I loved that. I had a great time and met some really cool people. I will definetly return!!

Liked: Great beds / dorm. Free internet good kitchen - free coffee. Would stay there again. Parking was a bit of a pain, but free on single yellows overnight from 6pm to 10am. ( £ 4.50 per day )
