Liked: Porthtowan Backpackers is just a few steps away from the beach & cliffs. In the center of a very quite village (at least in November). Steve & Jane made us feel at home very quickly, and were very helpfull in making our stay to the best. They made us almost feel part of the family for a couple of days :) Steve was full of tips & stories about the region. We are missing the chats at breakfast in the flower shop ;) Thanks Steve & Jane!

Liked: Steve was so helpful, very quirky place with everything you need. Cute roof top terrace and good free continental breakfast and reduction on surf hire

Disliked: Had 2 cats and i am allergic!

Liked: The character of the property and its fantastic location were both excellent.

Disliked: While the general cleanliness was good, the deeper cleanliness was lacking. This did not, however, detract from the stay.

Liked: Steve is absolutely great and full of lots of information - it really made a difference having a host who genuinely wanted to meet his guests, make sure that everything was ok, and offer as much help as he can to make our stay as good as possible. The surf lesson with Spence was great fun, and Porthtowan a lovely part of the world that I am looking forward to returning to...and when I do, I'll stay at Porthtowan Backpackers again! Thanks so much Steve.

Liked: Amazing friendly people, great advice and generally being very nice. Having wifi, common area. Close to beach, recommend going to Blue Bar for food or a drink

Disliked: Not much to do in town, although not related to backpackers as such - great place to chill out though or surf

Liked: Steve and Jane are extremely friendly, generous hosts who go out of their way to make people feel at home. A great place and feel, particularly if travelling solo. Would definitely stay again!

Liked: I loved everything about this quaint little surfing town. Porthtowan Backpackers is packed full of character, a real surfers hostel. The owner is flawlessly friendly and had good knowledge of the area. Really good location if you’re after a relaxing beach holiday. The Blue Bar 2min down the road is excellent for good food and atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again next summer!!!

Liked: Spent some days there in May and just had to come back. Have never experienced such a warm and welcoming atmosphere anywhere else. This place will always feel like home away from home. The good vibe there made it both possible for people to meet, and to make new friends, and to have some time on your own. Absolutely not the last time I go visit that wonderful place..
