Liked: it is a hostel you got good facilities and everything you needed and it cheap and over night you could just park your car right out side the door

Disliked: well you cant control the noise it is a hostel but there was a school group in and they were loud

Liked: This is a very basic hostel. It just provides you with a bed (that was clean and comfy, I must say this), then everything else (internet, breakfast) must be added to the first price (which is the one shown at the moment of booking) and makes it almost 10 pounds more per day. The toilets are very small and scattered all around so you get a lot of people walking in the aisles until late. I must say that I was there at the same time as a big schoolclass of teenagers was, so my judgment on the "noise" point can be biased. The common rooms were alternatively too crowded (game room) or stinky and sad (TV room) to stay in. The kitchen was big and well equipped though, the staff members were really nice and helpful, and the location is very good, 5 min from the Railway Station, 10 min from the bus stop in Parkside, 15 min from the main colleges (but far enough to have a quiet sleep on a saturday night, which I guess would be hard to get in the city centre). Very close there is Mill Road with lots of cafes where you can get breakfast (and free wifi!) for reasonable prices. All in all the cheapest accomodation in Cambridge and quite acceptable depending how flexible you are and what you are expecting from a hostel.

Liked: We felt very secure and safe and the beds and bedding were very comfortable.

Disliked: The lady who worked the night shift at reception was unnecessarily rude and forceful from the minute we stepped into the building. She has absolutely no people skills and should not be working as the face for a fun youth hostel. She ruined our stay.

Liked: Vety close to the rail station....15mins walk to the city centre,,,staffs are friendly and helpful...

Disliked: need to pay for wifi and it is unreasonable expensive....only three hanger for a four bed dorm..shower is very weak.....furnitures are old..the room is very basic....

Liked: It was clean and in a convenient location for the station, and suitable for a large group to stay in.

Disliked: The staff were quite firm in their insistance that we did not make any noise and that we obeyed all of the rules, which came across as slightly rude at first - but it was fair enough really as we were a large group of blokes.

Liked: The cafeteria meal was very well done although not included in the room price, was good value, The room and bedding was clean although very small. Close to rail line and town.

Disliked: The room was really really small and although booked a double suite it was Bunk Beds. Someone also used key to open our room when we were in room sleeping?

Liked: The location. Unfortunately, nothing else.

Disliked: It was one of the worst hostels I've ever been to (which is extremely unfortunate, because Cambridge itself is wonderful). The member of the staff was rude and absolutely unadequate.

Liked: Great deal for budget traveler, great location, 5 minutes walking distance to the railway station.

Disliked: no free wi-fi, even with payment, they are extremely slow, expensive slow internet, i wonder was i in UK? Bathrooms are SMALL, few and DIRTY.........i would rather add 7~8 pounds more to stay in Alder Lodge which i rate 100% recommended for friends.

Liked: We lived in a double room with basin for three nights, shared bathroom and toliet. Bathroom could be locked from inside, which is good. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Self-catering kitchen is great, you can store your own food in fridge and storage cupboard (labled with your name). On ground floor, there is one cafe and one lounge room. There is billiard you can play, but you need to pay 1GBP. However, you can play Wii free of charge, which is great. Currently they have 4 games. We like wii sports very much.

Disliked: Do not include breakfast, but you can use self kitchen instead. Officialy, wi-fi is chargable. but you can search some other free wi-fi in the lounge room ;)

Liked: Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, with great knowledge of area. (twin) room was quite big and amazing value for money.

Disliked: The only bad thing to say about the hostel was that there was a strange (and quite strong) smell in the corridoor and in the room

Liked: I had an extremely nice time here. The helpfulness of the staff is quite remarkable in that sense. Also, the fact that there are tons of shops close by also makes this a nice place to stay.

Disliked: The only complaint that I had is that one of the bathrooms did not have electricity.

Disliked: Far away from city centre, not safe enough to come back at night When I needed to check-out at 7am, I even cannot find the staff!!! Need to pay extra 3 pounds for non-YHA member

Liked: Some rooms downstairs - dining hall and one sitting room are in good condition. Staff very good

Disliked: Some downstairs rooms are in poor condition. As you go up the stairs to the rooms it becomes increasingly shabby. I've stayed in many YHAs and I haven't known one so tatty. It was also fairly grubby, several toilets on the top floor were out of order and there wasn't always hot water. Curtains hanging off the rails.
