We were shown the accomodation, given keys and then left to get on with it without the staff being around all the time. The staff were nice enough and trusting, we were trusted to pay when we checked out.

Overview

The Lazy Shark's hostel is a 16 bed facility situated above the charming bar / restaurant, which provides breakfast and meals on request. Accommodation is clean and basic, with a small team of friendly staff on hand downstairs. Newly redecorated and refurbished in December 2011!

We provide a basic hostel / backpackers service, with a sixteen bed capacity spread across two dormitories ( one of 10 and one of 6).
There are shared bathroom and kitchen facilities, and a common room with TV.
Beds can be booked singly, or rooms booked en bloc.
Clean bedlinen is provided, and towels can be hired at a small cost.
Check -in can be up to 11.00pm. There is all - night, 24 hour access once checked in.

Accommodation Information

One dormitory of 10 bunks and one of 6 bunks. There is a shared bathroom with shower and a fully fitted kitchen. The accommodation is unapologetically basic but clean and secure.

The Lazy Shark is on Christchurch Road, just off the main High St and close to the bus station. Pokesdown rail station is only a few minutes walk away.

Just a few minutes walk from the fantastic beaches, Boscombe pier and the infamous surf reef, we are also ideally situated for public transport into Bournemouth or Christchurch. Buses run 24 hours a day and only take ten minutes from right outside our door.

For gig-goers, the O2 Academy is only two minutes' walk away, while excellent local transportlinks get you to Poole, Sandbanks, Swanage and Weymouth, as well as Salisbury and the New Forest.
