Liked: Clean bedrooms and bathrooms, friendly reception staff on arrival, excellent inclusive breakfast spread (various cereals, fruit salad, yoghurt, toast, hot drinks, juice)

Disliked: I arrived late in the evening. The location is still close to town but feels isolated and wouldnt be a great place to walk back to in the evening if you were by yourself.

Liked: Amazing staff (one of the receptionists looked like Katy B :), great location, excellent conditions.. Hatters group of hostels is just perfect and never lets you down.. Thank you for lovely stay and see you soon..

Liked: Having done the whole backpacking thing before, I can truly say that this place has it spot on. The hostel has a great vibe going on and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home in Birmingham. This is the only place I will ever use from now on in Birmingham, mostly for the excellent hospitality. See you again one day Hatters!!!

Disliked: No dislikes whatsoever!!!

Liked: Clean, friendly and supportive. Definitely will stay here next time visiting Birmingham. Big room. Love atmosphere in the dining area and the free tea and bread in the kitchen.

Disliked: Only a small fraud- the carpet in the room smelled a bit. But is WAY BETTER than the hostels I stayed before!!

Liked: Very helpful and friendly staff, clean rooms & pretty comfy bed, 24hr free tea and toast very nice after a long journey!

Disliked: Could do with lockers in the shared rooms, found the area a bit intimidating on my early morning walk to the train station.

Liked: Love the atmosphere here, it's relaxed and friendly. Best hostel I've ever stayed in!

Liked: 1. It is one of the closest hostels to New St. Railway Station 2. All staff were very kind, helpful and flexible 3. Free coffe, tea, toast is available 24/7 4. It is relatively clean, the beds are also okey 5. They have common places were you do like to stay (eg. movie room)

Disliked: I was unable to close the window next to my bed in room (103), so it was relatively cold there - however the air was fresh... The center is a bit further than written, it took 25 min. to get there with a bigger backsack.

Liked: Reception staff is super nice. I have stayed in 4 bed dorm but room and ensuite bathroom is very clean. They have kitchen and provide reasonable breakfast.

Disliked: This is not a fault of this hostel but when I stayed there is a big group of young guys they were very very very noisy.

Liked: Very nice character, decoration and a great use of an old industrial building.

Disliked: Not much there to dislike. Just vanum the room more often.

Liked: The guy at front desk was so helpful, he even carried my bag all the way to my room (without being asked!). Internet connection great, excellent facilities and nice character. Large ensuite. Best Hatters hostel I have stayed in by far.

Liked: Very Warm welcome and really helpfull staff as soon as I walked in the door, Clean room with good clean bathroom and hot shower, Great to have Free Tea,Coffee and toast 24hrs and a really nice area to eat it in with comfy tv lounge with big screen projector, quiet lounge for reading etc and large kitchen and dining area, also the building is solid so there is none of this listening to every move the people above or around you make as the floors creek and doors squeak like you get in some hostels. Highly recomended, and did I mention the staff were great! Thanks hatters see you for my next gig!

Disliked: nothing really, to be pedantic i could say the light switches in the rooms were not in the easiest places to find in the dark but thats very minor really!

Liked: The staff was really nice and helpfull and location was good (but it would be nice to have some better description of road from the bus/train stop). Really nice the 24h toast, but it's just with marmelade...

Disliked: In a room for 9, there is one bathroom inside a room for all - with 2 showers and one toilet and toilet is not separated in different room, also just one sink. Everybody were for that reason locked inside by their own, so we had to wait and it was like having just one shower. Also the bathroom was quite dirty!

Disliked: No lockers. Also, I arrived to the hostel late evening and left in the morning the next day so I wasn't there long enough to see much of the hostel really. From what I saw I would recommend to friends and would also return.

Disliked: It was hard to find. I arrived at night and got lost trying to follow the directions given on the website.
