Liked: Staffs are very helpful. They could offer a walk route map with stories, making the visiting quite interesting.

Disliked: Although the sheets are snow white, the toilet and kitchen are quite dirty. It seems that nobody is cleaning on a daily basis. For some reason, the shower water is quite unstable, sometimes not hot enough, sometimes turning into very thin stream.

Liked: The staff were awesome, it had a cool little kitchen, den, tv room and the rooms were clean with own bathroom. It was close to some cool pubs and takeaway food as well as having a good kitchen and free toast , tea coffee for emergencies!!

Liked: It's one of the best hostels I've stayed in and the rooms are very clean and ensuite. The beds are also very strong so they don't creak and the location is perfect. The best part is the free breakfast, wifii and the awesome staff. We had a great time on sat night as we went on the pub crawl with them and it was the best Saturday night ever!!!

Disliked: some ppl were a bit noisy but what else can u expect on a Saturday night? ;)

Liked: The staff were really helpful and welcoming. The room was nice and clean and also nicely decorated. This second stay at the hostel.

Disliked: Only one pillow each - would have liked two but this was really minor!

Liked: helpful staff. lots of lounges. tv room. separate lounge with mario cart :). good dining area and kitchen space.

Disliked: you could hear people in the ensuite toilet - thin walls.

Liked: We liked staying at Hatters because it was clean, and there were a lot of facililities. It was located not far from the city centre and in a nice area, so we could visit Birmingham within a day or two. Besides the receptionist, Karl, was very friendly and helped us find what we wanted to see or do in town. We had a fantastic day in Birmingham thanks to all that... thank you!

Liked: Very approachable staff and friendly atmosphere. The communal area allows people from different background to meet and hang out together. Free wifi, kitchen and breakfast is a big plus for me. Go to the saturday pub crawl!

Liked: I can't recommend Hatters enough. It's in a lovely old building, with spacious dorms, en suite bathrooms and comfy beds. The common area takes up the whole of the basement floor, with 2 sitting rooms, kitchen, dining room, computer room and laundry. The kitchen has plenty of storage space and utensils so you can actually cook your own decent meals rather than just reheating microwave rubbish or Pot Noodles. Free tea and toast 24 hours is a very generous bonus. There's always plenty for breakfast which is also included. I love Hatters, but by far the best thing about it is the staff. They are genuinely friendly and helpful and really know what they're talking about. They make you feel at home and are always ready with advice on where to go and what to do. Having stayed at another hostel in Birmingham in the same price range I'm impressed at what Hatters provide for so little. I wouldn't consider staying at any other hostel whenever I'm in Birmingham now, and will be sure to check out the other Hatters if I need to stay in Manchester or Liverpool. I know it sounds like I work for them or something but I don't, they're just that good (and I'm a grumpy sod at the best of times).
