Liked: This is a wonderful hostel with immense character and a great location. The owner is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. A lovely, quirky little nook of the world. Would highly recommend it.

Liked: best value ever, great location, great facilities, one of the best breakfasts going,& John was most helpful, informative and cooks a great porridge! we wish we had known how good this hidden gem was going to be, we would have stayed longer. would be our ist choice of places to stay in the area .

Liked: John was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was right in the middle of the town but tucked away quietly in a courtyard. This accommodation is clean and comfortable - not a boutique hotel but you are not paying boutique hotel prices. Excellent value for money.

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike at this property.

Liked: lovely homely feel. great free breakfast. The studio apartment for 2 is especially good value for money - with all the facilties of a flat and a breakfast too.

Liked: The owners were so friendly and accommodating. The studio room we had was outstanding value for money, and had excellent amenities - all you could wish for! The breakfast was exciting and fresh, with a range of things to choose from. The location is great, and we felt very welcome. We wish we could have stayed longer, and will definitely be back.

Disliked: Difficult to find the crockery but once found there was plenty of it.

Liked: The hostel is located at the heart of old Berwick but in a beautiful secluded courtyard so sufficiently quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When they missed my call to enquire about something they immediately called back, The breakfast was excellent, good quality and lots to choose from.

Disliked: I'm not sure how warm the bedrooms would be in winter but we stayed in spring and were sufficiently warm. If you have problems climbing stairs don't get the twin ensuite as it's on the second floor and you access it via a spiral staircase.

Liked: This place is fantastic. It is clean, comfortable and better than most B&B's I have stayed in. John even went out of his way to get rice milk for my daughter who is lactose intolerant. The breakfast was great and I would highly recommend a stay here :-)

Liked: The room, the furniture,and the helpful staff. In fact, everything is wonderful.

Liked: I stayed at this hostel while doing the Coast and Castles cycle route and found it offered both excellent facilities and great value for money. The hostel is well equipped for cyclists and has secure cycle storage and good drying facilities. The owner could not e more helpful.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: A great hostel full of character, with friendly helpful staff. The room was really lovely full of old books and beams, wished I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

Liked: Everything about this hostel was fantasic, from the facilities in the room to the atmosphere and the location. I only stayed for one night but I would have been very happy to stay for longer and am already planning my next trip back .

Liked: This is a really lovely place to stay, the owner is friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and was helpful with any queries. We stayed in the double ensuite room and it was like having our own flat to come home to, very well equipped and just like being at home!

Liked: I would have added 'good' to all sections but we ad such a bad time with the owner of Hideaway, it wouldn't ave been honest. It's a nice place - but if you have children, stay somewhere else.
