Liked: Lovely quirky welcoming hostel - hideaway is the perfect name for this secret treasure hidden away behind the bustling streets of Berwick. Falling somewhere between a hostel and a B&B this place was exactly what we needed. We were impressed with how well furnished it was, how different and quirky, and also the breakfast and bike store. Very good value, somewhere to recommend and return to. Also pleased with the flexibility of the owners to adjust our booking at short notice.

Liked: Wonderful place, clean, charming and fantastic facilities, a real home from home and much better than we had expected. The studio room is a really cool small apartment rather than a room. Great decor and details, owners have really thought of everything - very well equipped. Stonkingly good value too!!

Liked: This is a very attractive and pleasant hostel. I thought that it would prove to be the 'cheap and nasty' option. It certainly proved to be cheap, but in every respect proved to be far better than any hotel or B&B I have ever stayed in. It will certainly be my preferred option next time I am staying overnight in Berwick, and I will be very disappointed if it isn't available. I can't praise Mr Morton, the proprietor, in high enough terms. What a brilliant hostel.

Liked: I was captivated by the place as soon I walked through the passage into the first courtyard and then the next. The charm of the exterior was matched by genuine hospitality.

Liked: Quirky individuality, friendlyness; It was like staying with an elderly, slightly eccentric, uncle and aunt..Wonderful breakfast.Negative: Not easy to find on a cold wet afternoon; sleeping-bags very small. (Offered as constructive criticism!)

Liked: Very comfortable and cozy place to stay. Very well equiped kitchen, well stocked with supplies for breakfast. The people who own it are friendly and helpful. For what you are getting it is excellent value for money. I would definitely go there again if up that way. It is in two separate buildings. The building I stayed in only had two beds, and two out of the three nights I was there I had the place to myself. This was lovely, but if you want to make friends while travelling it is not the best place to stay.

Liked: Clean, unique, great location, friendly landlord. Incredible value for money. This is a self-catering hotel at a hostel price. We would have easily paid triple for this room elsewhere. Will definitely return.
