Berwick is an ideal base for exploring Northumberland, Lindisfarne and the Scottish Borders.

We are close to an amazing number of cycling and walking routes.

Additionally, Northumberland is an international Mecca for birders! We have excellent secure cycle storage facilities as well as good provision for drying out clothes/boots etc if you are unlucky with the weather!

Admire the magnificent stone fireplace as you toast yourself by the multi fuel stove.

Enjoy a barbecue on the veranda or in the delightful little courtyard garden as you relax in the cool summer night air, heavy with the scent of honeysuckle and jasmine.

Shared facilities include a good sized shower, well equipped kitchen, sitting room with TV, Internet access and Wi-Fi and dining room.

Bedding and an excellent breakfast included in price. Large towels can be hired for £1 each.

Please arrange reception (16.00 - 22.00hrs) directly with the hostel. For cyclists and walkers without a car, baggage can be left in a secure place at other times, but by arrangement only.

In case of cancellation less than forty eight hours before arrival, one third of total balance is payable directly to the hostel. Please note that this policy may differ from the HostelBookers standard cancellation policy.

Accommodation Information

Our comfortable two and three-bed rooms - 2 twin, 2 double, 1 3-bed can be shared or privately booked. All bed spaces in a room need to be booked for private use. We believe we are exceptional in going to considerable efforts to ensure that shared dorms remain single sex only, even to the extent of 'blocking' bedspaces . "Hostelbookers" cannot itself guarantee that our dorms remain single sex, but precise details of your booking will appear in your confirmation, so if something slips through the net and you are not happy, please ring or email the hostel direct.
Freshly laundered bedding ( sheet, quilt, pillow) provided free. Large bath towels can be hired for £1 each.

Our hostel is conveniently situated in the heart of Old Berwick, near to numerous walking and cycle routes, as well as local attractions. Food shops, restaurants, pubs and good local transport and plenty of interesting short walks all within easy reach, even for those relying on Shank's pony!
