Liked: Good location. Friendly staff. Breakfast was great. Great self catering facilities.

Disliked: Lower bunk virtually on the floor. Very average showers. Parking on the road.

Disliked: No way to lock our door from the inside (stayed in the lodge). Made us feel less secure.

Liked: The room was big, clean and great. All the facilities were also clean and fine. The view from the hostel is very nice.

Disliked: It is quite far away from the city centre on the top of the mountain. Walking is around 40 minuts going up. But, there are buses that stop on the front door of the hostel.

Liked: Friendly, laid back. Bar and restaurant.

Disliked: No paper towel in bathrooms and sanitary bins overflowing. No individual reading lights in dorm and not enough storage space per bed.

Liked: Great building, friendly staff, warm and comfy room and bed. 2 showers and toilets en-suite which were very clean.

Disliked: Just a bit of a way out of town with a pretty big hill on the way back. However, taxi was only £6 so this was fine. Plus, buses run regularly.

Liked: The outside appearance of the building- was probably a beautiful old building in its time

Disliked: The staff were very rude, we arrived early and wanted to leave our luggage-we were not greeted at all, jst a door opened for our bags. The room itself was very small for 4 people and the ensuite bathroom which we paid more money for was extrememy tiny as well as dirty. Th sanitary towel bin was overflowing and was not emptied even when we requested it. The sink did not drain which meant we ended up using the main bathrooms even though we paid for our ensuite.

Liked: The location is amazing - only a 15 minute walk from the city centre, with beautiful views. The food was nice enough, and the bar sells local beers which are very good.

Disliked: No basics are provided except for toilet paper. Shower gel, towels, etc could be purchased or hired from reception for £2 but that seemed a little expensive to me.

Liked: Nice old building

Disliked: Little way out of town and up a steep hill, however that was described well at booking.

Liked: this was in a nice setting. beds were very comfy and so were the pillows and doonas! good kitchen facilities and there is a bus right out front

Disliked: The lady at the front dest was a bit sarcastic and rude. The internet was pricey.

Liked: Great staff, nice room, beautiful building, and we loved our evening meal.

Disliked: Breakfast ended promptly at 9 - consider extending it to 9:30, please! I couldn't even get a cup of coffee once the clock struck 9. We felt we'd been cheated a bit after paying for a full breakfast and then not being able to even get our plates loaded before the food was taken away.

Liked: Staff were helpful and apologetic when informed them of ensuite toilet and shower that were not clean.

Disliked: Toilet & shower were not clean

Liked: This was the first time I have ever stayed in a Hostel before and I have stayed at worst hotels! Great value for money. Location is not at the heart of the city but there are buses every 10 mins, plus great views of the city when you take the bus.

Disliked: Prob the noise. Only recommendation for this is to maybe buy door stoppers to stop doors from slamming loud.

Liked: Not really clean the wash basin, but everything else absolutely comfortable and clean.

Liked: The staff were friendly, it was clean and safe and had a really good atmospshere - with the self-catering kitchen, dining room and a lounge.

Disliked: There is a massive hill to walk up to get to the hotel and it isn't very central - but that is easily fixed with the bus stop right out the front.

Liked: The room was superb and real value for money, the building is one of the nicest I've ever seen as a youth hostel. We had a really good time and would like to come back.

Disliked: Well, not much, but you should know that the hostel is a 30-40 minute walk from the city centre and the train station. And it's sitting on a hill. We have walked the entire way up there with our luggage and wouldn't recommend this - instead, just take the bus 18, it will drive you from the train station or the city centre practically to the doorstep of the hostel.

Liked: - Charm and character of the main house - Nice common facilities

Disliked: - Rear house (where we were hosted) has much less charm - Really unpleasant smell in the corridors of the rear house (and a bit in the room)

Liked: Very clean, and comfortable beds inside. Quiet, perfect if you're about to fall in pieces because you are tired and you need a good night.

Disliked: Lots of families, quiet people getting sleep early and you'll be there for a good sleep, not for meeting any new people. Too big and comfy.

Disliked: staff. Only 1 person was nice to me. Youngpeople should at least try and be respectful!! WiFi: DO NOT BOTHER!!! does Not Work!! 4£ 1h or 8£ for 24hrs. Does not work goes on and off all the time! Awful!

Liked: A nice-looking building. The dorm is quite clean and tidy. The staff was so helpful that he helped me to get my big big luggage upstairs.

Disliked: The bathroom is not so comfortable but acceptable. The bathroom+washroom is a shared one for both sex. It is not so convenient for girls to have face care there. Although there is actually one in the dorm room, just using it maybe quite annoying for roommates if the time is not right...I also jumped when I wasn't ready to see a man walking out of the toilet cell when I was having face care...He also asked me if it is a woman's room or a mixed one... I hesitated for a few seconds before I think it is a mixed one. The staff usually looked disinterested and without energy. A bit expensive for its average service and environment.
