Liked: Very cozy colorful place to stay and relax. Rooms are simple but providing everything a backpacker would need.

Disliked: Hidden in a small lane, very hard to find.

Liked: The location is great. It's a five minute walk from the station, and another 5-10 minutes to Luxor Temple and the ferries to the West Bank. There are some decent places to get food quite close to the hostel. The atmosphere is nice. Right now there aren't a lot of tourists in Egypt, understandably, so there weren't many people there, but I can imagine it would be a great place to meet other backpackers once tourism picks up again. It's also quite cheap. The staff was nice, but as I didn't stay long, I didn't get much of a chance to talk to them.

Disliked: The sink didn't have cold water when I was there, so I had to wash my hands in the tub. They tried to put me in a more expensive room when I got there, although I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake. When I called them on it, they quickly put me in the room I had booked for the price I had agreed to pay. So I'm not sure if this is a complaint or not, just something to be aware of.

Liked: hmmm, the door to our room had a lock on itThe walls were covered with murals, real nicely done, i must say!

Disliked: one time I walked in and all the 2 staff were asleep, on the sofas, anyone culd have walked in. The place was dead, no music, no atmosphere, was like entering a morgue. the shower head was missing, and our bed sagged like a hammock! t

Liked: The location, the place look grate but its not good when they overbook the hostel - and they just reject you! have never tryed that before - and hopefully its the last time

Liked: it is quirky

Disliked: dirty! the manager tries to rip you off! he offers 'deals' on tours and then it turn out he's taking a huge %. just organise yourself through the tourist information office opposite the station.

Liked: The name

Disliked: The staff. They gave my reservation away to someone who paid a higher price. I would not really mind that in of itself, but the guy who i assume was the manager was very dickis about it. When I arrived I showed him my reservation and was told to sit. Not "please have seat" or "youre welcome to wait in the loby while we get your room ready" but just "sit". After a short time he came to me and told me that i shouldnt tell others how much i'm paying because he has a tour there of people who paid a lot of money and it would be bad for business. Shortly after this he took me to my room, which was not the one I made a reservation for. I left my bag there and went back out to make a purchase from him and found out later that he overcharged me about 6 fold. When I tried to go up to the rooftop balcony he stopped me and told me that the people with the tour were up there and I cant go up at the moment. After about another half hour I packed my bag and left. Maybe you will have a different experience if you pay four or five times the going rate for a room, but for other travelers l would reccomend not wasting your time and money on this place. It took me no more then a half hour to find another place which was even cheaper and had superb service.

Liked: It looked ok and very handily located and would have liked to have stayed but was not to be!

Disliked: I booked for six nights at the Bob Marley but whan I got there I was told that there was no room for me and was shown to another hotel over the road. Ok, these things happen, but the mistake of the staff was to put the other people they had done the same thing to into the same reserve hotel...and travellers talk! Just because you have a reservation number from Hostelbookers DO NOT assume that there will be a space reserved for you at this place! Shocking!

Liked: I did not expect there is such a nice hostel in Luxor. Since Luxor is the first city that we visit in Egypt, the staff in bob marley really help us a lot to organize the programe of each day, like air balloon travel, Nile sail as well as car renting service..... And the staff really treat us as friends. The price were fair, sometimes with a discount that u can only get in bob marley. Also, the decoration of the hostel hall was quite nice, especially the roof which is a great place to get relaxed. Finally, it was sooooo cheeeeap!!

Disliked: ...... Maybe the bath facility . the water flow was small in our bath room. But when we went to anather bath room then everything works well.

Liked: The Facilities is so so as the other hostel in Egypt. but the Atmosphere,location,roof and take rest in roof with Reggae music are beautiful.I like experience special things by travel,If you like me,I would highly recommend here.

Liked: absoultely awesome place to stay. the staff were overwhelmingly friendly and never asked us once if we even were considering doing any tours.very laid back with an awesome roof chill area.... enjoy your stay there

Liked: The Bob Marley House is the best and only choice for a budget minded backpacker traveling through Luxor! Heaps of character, super chill staff, great location, good included breakfast, amazingly inexpensive, and the only real hostel environment in the city. Highly recommended for a groovy time while exploring the famous tombs and temples along East and West bank of The Nile!

Liked: The staff are very interesting people. It takes a while to understand the relations between them. Sometimes, maybe too often, they look very crazy, but funny at the same time.
