Liked: Great location - minutes from the metro, the nile, the museum etc.A good lounge upstairs for e-access etc. Standard hostel stuff, no major complaints.Like all hostels in Cairo, they'll recommend some tours and guides - my suggestion would be to shop around for better options, or navigate the city on your own, skipping the tours/guides altogether.

Liked: The lift was a real treat, but probably quite unsafe. Other than that, location is good (as are most downtown hostels) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Don't believe everything they say about how diffiicult it is to travel independently though (as they try and sell you a tour).Our private bathroom was the cleanest we have seen in a while.

Liked: clean big rooms, cosy, only shared bathrooms ugly. Good location, close to egyptian museum and lots of small places to drink tea and smoke shesha

Liked: The staff were absolutely wonderful! Rooms are large and clean - old bed sheets and comforters but you get what you pay for. Great location for wandering through downtown and very helpful staff for arranging tours and drivers. I recommend to anyone travelling on a budget.

Liked: we were feeling like at home. they give us all the information that we need, and facilities to make our trip more comfortable because they take care about our baggage during we were in other places in egypt. they offers buy never oblised to do thinks.also, the driver that they send us, Said, is perfect for to entry in cairo.you can feel the reality savely.

Liked: Loved Meerames hostel. I arrived early from my flight (a rarity, I know), and thought I'd have to wait an hour for my pickup... but by the time I arrived, the driver guy was already ready and waiting for me! I got taken to the hostel, where Mustafah showed me around and helped me orient myself. The whole stay was great- breakfast was a little snoozeworthy, but it almost always is... the staff were really great, the kitchen was clean, everything was within walking distance, and it was easy to meet people. Great, great hostel!

Liked: I think the Meramees hotel is very good. It's located in the good area, so I could look around by walk. And Everyone who is working at the reception is very kind. Especially Doaa is very cute and lovely and helped us kindly and she can speaks Korean a little, so it was cool. Also they arranged taxi and train instead of us. I wanna recommend to u, :)^_^

Liked: I stayed at Meramees for a period of 4 days. It was as described om the hostelbookers website, if not better. The tours were offered at a good price and Ash is very knowledgable and helpful when it comes to navigating Cairo. The AC has to be mentioned as another positive since I've had the best nights sleep despite the high temps. Also look out for the artwork and photos that are now being displayed at Meramees. It adds even more character to the place! Hopefully it can inspire fellow travellers to make their own little contributions. In short, I recommend Meramees and hope to stay there again in the very near future!
