Liked: Excellent location and very good value for money. The only downside was that Mustafa - the owner - pushes hard to sell you his trips but in the total of nine days we were there (in two blocks of 5 and then 4) he was only seen in the building twice so he is easy to avoid and the staff he has working for him couldnt be more friendly, helpful and less pushy. Internet is available at 5LE per hour and a laundry service at 1LE per item. You can also use the kitchen.

Liked: Good location, no problems with staff or anything else. Basic hostel breakfast served. Owner revealed some real and unique egyptian humour as well.

Liked: we stayed here for 3 nights. the only bad thing was there was almost never any toilet paper in any of the toilets which was really annoying.

Liked: Actually quite nice place to stay in Cairo. Its clean, in a great location and there are lots of interesting people. It is very noisy, especially at night, but I guess thats typical Cairo. The most annoying thing was the Hostel boss, who tried to sell us overpriced tours every day to every location. And he gets mad and lies (its not safe) if you prefer to do it on your own. Never book something, especially at the first day, when you have no idea how cheap things are in Cairo.

Liked: Excellent place to stay - 5 minutes from the Egyptian Museum. Great staff too, helped me out a lot when my cash card was eaten by an ATM (avoid the local HSBC branch!)

Liked: The hostel is in a great location, in a lively area just a few minutes walk from the Egyptian Museum. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The staff here is really good - Mostafa was great at helping us plan our 3 wks stay in Egypt. You pay a little more for the service, than if you were to do it on your own, but we found it was definetely worth the extra money - reduced some of the hassle of travel in Egypt. I definetely recommend staying at this hostel - no complaints!

Liked: This hostel is one of the best i have stayed at. Yes it's old but everything in Cario is! You won't find more helpful or friendly staff anywhere in the world... nothing was to much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure I was safe, had a good time and saw everything i wanted to see!!! Highyl recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

Liked: It's centrally located for downtown, close to Felfela restaurant and takeaway & handy for the Egyptian Museum. The breakfast, while not large, was filling and among the better I had at hostels in Egypt. The bathrooms are clean and there is hot water early in the morning and late at night. One staff member became rude when we decided to book our sleeper train tickets ourselves, but other than that the staff at Lialy were friendly and helpful.
