Liked: First of all, everything is fine in Cairo so don't skip this fantastic place cuz whatever happened in January is over. People on the streets are warm and willing to help you anytime . The Hostel's Staff is amazingly helpful, they really now how to get the best of Egypt according with the time you want to spend in the country. Breakfast is OK and the hostel is always clean. I really enjoyed my time here. I would totally come back and recommend this place to anyone.

Liked: Great hostel. Close to the subway and to many coffeeshops and restaurants. The hostel sent a driver to pick us up from the airport so it was very hassle-free. The tours offered are excellent...Ahmed was especially amazing as a driver, very nice and had tons of information. They helped get train tickets for us as well which is good as it can be difficult to do it yourself if you do not speak Arabic. The lounge area was a nice place to relax. Thank you very much!

Liked: What a fantastic place Brothers was. I was welcomed into one big happy family and felt at home immediately. The rooms were great, exceptionally comfy beds and the cleanliness and positive vibe of the place was outstanding. I have stayed in hundreds of hostels around the World but I may have to visit Egypt again just to return to Brothers HOstel! I would strongly recommend this hostel to all looking for accommodation in Cairo and congratulate the staff on creating such a welcoming and happy place.

Liked: I really enjoyed my stay in Brothers Hostel. The staff is young, very helpfull and full of suggestions. However, they don't force you to do any tours, and if you just want transportation information, they will be happy to provide that for you as well. The hostel is clean, and the 'living' is quite relaxed, some cushions on the floor where you feel at home immediately. If you come back from a day trip, a museum or just a walk in town, it's a relaxed place to come back to. highly recommend

Liked: The hostel is extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable! It was a nice resting spot in our crazy travels, and exactly what we needed. The staff at the hostel, especially Emam, made our trip though. He was always eager to point us in the direction of adventure, accompany us to local spots, and share the best places to visit. He definitely pushed our trip above and beyond what we could have expected!

Liked: Well this is my second stay here after being in the desert, and i still love it.....the hostel staff are really friendly and always wanted to help me with information about egypt. I really feel comfortable at Brothers because it is clean and i love the couch in the common room, its sooo comfy ::)) would definately recommend this hostel to everyone and anyone :)

Liked: I really liked that this hostel was very comfortable and clean. The staff their felt like my friends cause they were so happy to help with information about egypt, they even booked my tour to the pyramids and the desert.. Its also in a great location, i felt very safe walking to and from the hostel to go shopping.

He definitely pushed our trip above and beyond what we could have expected!

Liked: So I initially booked two nights in the dorm, planning on a quick Cairo trip before heading to Dahab. Just for those two nights they sent a taxi to pick me up from the airport for Free! No one else does that! Even better, when I got to the hostel (in the famous Yacoubian building) they upgraded my room to a private with a queen-size bed! Awesome! Unfortunately for me, I got sick and couldn't go to Dahab. So I ended up staying here for 6 days, all in the same room, for just the dorm price! The guys are all ........

Liked: Provide an elaborate list of what can be done in Egypt. The trip I can really recommend is the desert trip.. That should just be done by everybody visiting here. The people they use for this trip are the best too..

Liked: Large room, free wifi, free airport pickup and the location was good

Disliked: Several minor things that added up to a average stay - booked a double room but got 4 single beds, we felt pressured to take tours of the rest of Egpyt from the hostel where they suggested the places we wanted to go (like Siwa) would not be good to visit. Seemed to be a cooling off of staff friendliness once we declined. The shared bathrooms did not always have toilet paper and the light wasn't working in one of them which meant you couldn't use it. They needed to move a bed out of our room but didn't decide to do it until 1040 at night and we had an early bus the next morning. All minor but didn't contribute to a great stay

Liked: Air conditioning in room! During summer, absolute necessity. Hostel offered pick up service from airport - and during Ramadan was well appreciated. We stayed in a massive room with twin beds, continental breakfast each day before setting out to see the sights. Great people watching off the small balcony to our room. LOTS of shops around and public transport/attractions do-able on foot.

Liked: Being a very independent and adventurous person I naturally planned my Egypt trip on my own, having done the research I believed I could have a great time while in Egypt, apparently my research didn’t take into account the vastness of Egypt. Moreover, upon arriving in Cairo Ahmed of the American Hostel told me the reality of Egyptian sight seeing. Ahmed and I together planned an agenda for the duration of my stay, he had several options for me to choose and we eventually customized what I decided to experience. I had a surreal and fantastic time from Day 1 until the day of departing Egypt with a new love of the country. What Ahmed and his people at the American hostel did was allow every destination I visited to be worry free so I could enjoy himself throughly. I highly recommend the American hostel, for among other things the staff being so friendly, their care for your well being, and the cleanliness of the hostel. Thank you sincerely Ahmed and staff of the American Hostel. Also, ask for Captain Ramadan and his boat “Moon Shadow” for a great felucca ride.-Pascal, NYC

Liked: Absolutely amazing, the staff, the location, the rooms, the breakfast, the free internet. I will definitely come back and stay here if ever in Egypt again (hoping real soon). The tours were reasonable price, and we had the best tour guide! Thank you everyone :)

Liked: This place was one of the best hostel-experiences I've ever had. An absolutly wonderful place which gives you the feeling not to stay in a hotel but to have a new home in Cairo! The stuff is more than friendly, is always helpful and provides you with everything you may need (tourist information in general, Egypt-tours, taxi-prices and so on). The rooms and all the hotel is perfectly clean and the prices for tea, coffee etc. are absolutly reasonable!I can truely say, that whenever I will come back to Cairo Hostel Brothers is definitely the place to stay and I would advise everyone to do the same!Thanks again to everybody in the hotel...you clearly made my trip perfect!

Liked: Amazing for the price. More like a hotel. Rooms are spotless and huge. The cleanest place in Egypt by far! Centrally located in the heart of Cairo. So much to do at night. So safe. Close to metro. Amazing.

Liked: The initial reception was very warm and helpful. We did not actually see any other guests due to the time of year, so can't comment really on meeting others. There was just a small sitting area around the reception, which was also near where breakfast was served. The hostel is in a multistory building with other businesses on the same floor and between the floors where the accommodation is. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
