Liked: Walking in the hostel I wasn't ready for the warmth i 've received from the staff. They were helpful, friendly and really cared about helping you out. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to party or just to relax. Its simply perfect.

Liked: Wake-up hostel was very comfortable, convenient, and safe for me to stay. It is very close to downtown and museum. Furthermore, this hostel offers good price, clean environment, and (very important thing to stay!) hot hot water. You can also enjoy beautiful overview of Cairo from this hostel's windows. And above all, the receptionist of this hostel is so kind that he told us many important information about traveling and help us stay convenient and friendly. If I come back to Cairo, I'll absolutely stay at this hostel. In fact, I prolonged my schedule in Cairo and I have stayed in dormitory, and private single room, and both were very nice and satisfying.

Disliked: I had nothing uncomfortable actually.

Liked: very kind and friendly staff. They know english very well and they have good information about Cairo and how to plan your trip around the area. All the rooms are very clean and have a nice view. The location is central, close to the museum and only 5 or 6 pounds with taxi from the bus station or the train station, if the driver understand. Let the staff organize for you any transfer, it is better.

Disliked: The entrance of the building from the road is a sad looking

Liked: One of the best things about the hostel is the staff. They are amazing, helpful, polite, friendly and willing to help you out in a heart beat or take you out and show you Cairo. It's clean, location is great and the staff can get you good deals on local bars, clubs and events. Also they have a really cheap shuttle to anywhere, any time. The staff are legendary and make a wonder environment. Haidy ana Walaa really stand out as great and helpful hosts. I loved the hostel and had a great time........

Liked: this is a fantastic little hostel in a great location with amazing veiws over cairo. it is very close to the main sights and the train station. But what makes this hostel so good is the staff. Everyone single one of them are FANTASTIC. i would suggest you use there airport pickup service as the hostel may be a little hard to find at first. when we arrived a driver and one of the hostel owners was there to take us safely to the hostel. WELL DONE GUYS !!! AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP MIDO.

Liked: i believe you would struggle to find a better hostel in this price range. we also found the hot showers better than what we have at home. very clean for Cairo standards, staff very nice, breakfast was also a treat, be sure you get Heidi to make it! would definately stay again next time in Cairo. also their recommendations on restaurants was excellent! we were very happy with Hostel wake up Cairo!

Disliked: the only problem that we loved the place so much and we didn't want to leave :)

Liked: Mohammed, younger guy working evenings was amazing. Manager was really nice as well. Cleanest hostel we've stayed in in the last five months, had a guest kitchen, main upside was extremely helpful staff. Got a free map there that highlights tourist attractions in Cairo (it's a pretty map with neat stuff on it, though essentially useless as an actual map, but still nice to have when you first enter the country). They also let us hang out there on the day we checked out for as long as we wanted, and kept our luggage for us, since our train was 10 hours later. They extended the offer for showers and stuff as well, which was really above and beyond. Location was perfect, surrounded by inexpensive local restaurants, close to metro, lots of coffee shops, 5 minute walk from museum.

Disliked: Extras were on the expensive side. We paid 6LE for both of us to get to the Pyramids and back on public transportation and their transportation was 100LE. Wifi cost 20LE per day, making it the only place we've ever had to pay for it, and they advertise a washing machine under their facilities but you actually have to pay 2LE/piece. All in all, great hostel though.

Liked: Overall very good hostel and would recommend staying here.

Disliked: The location is a bit hard to find. You should do airport pickup the first time visiting it since many taxis do not know where it is located.

Liked: The staff was really helpful and nice. They went out of there way to help us and always answered e-mails quickly. We had a really good experience in this hostel and would stay there again.

Disliked: The only bad thing is the location. I would recommend that you get an airport pick up as a lot of taxi drivers do not know where the hostel is located. The building and elevator look a little sketchy, but the actual hostel is very nice.

Liked: It is clean, close to the Egytian Museum and the metro, the hostel has really friendly staff. We went on a full day tour of the Pyramids with Mohammed, he is very friendly, informative, patient and funny. We had a great day out and overall our stay at Wake Up! has been very positive. I would recommend it to other travellers.

Disliked: The lift is worse than useless, the airport pick up made it easy to find, I think though if we hadn't had this we might have struggled to find it.

Liked: I really enjoy my time in this hostel, the people is excellent, they took me out for a drink, they help me with my trip, and gave me a lot of information. the hostel is clean and safe. I feel like in home all the time. If you are going to Cairo dont waste your time looking for another hostel, this one is a very good place. Thaks for everything guys. i hope to came back to Cairo. See you soon

Liked: Great place to meet people! The common room was comfortable and I quickly became friends with the other people in the hostel. The breakfast was good, and the staff was friendly. They described all the different tours they offered (to the pyramids etc) when you checked in, although we found our own transport, which was cheaper. Comfortable place to hang out and beat the heat (and it was HOT).

Disliked: You have to pay for the internet. The tours they offer may or may not have been a rip off. We found our own taxi to the pyramids, which turned out to be a great deal, but that's probably hit or miss. We heard that the tour guide from the hostel was a little sketchy from some other people, but that could just be the nature of the Egyptian tour guide. The trip to Luxor sounded good too, but again I decided to go by myself.

Liked: Loved this hostel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel is very clean. Overall, just a really nice place to stay and chill out at and after a while everyone just feels like family. The location is excellent and the view of the city is amazing! Definitely definitely worth it to stay here.

Disliked: sometimes it takes a while for the elevator to get there but eventually it comes... hah, very minor nitpicking complaint

Liked: 200% Satisfaction! Located just a block away from Cairo Museum. Peter and the rest of the staff are friendly and cool. They will help align taxis, tours, directions, or whatever other need they have. The hostel is very beautiful with a cool lounge area with low rise couches lining a ceramic plated wall with cable television that provides a great environment for socializing with the owners and other guests. Very clean hostel. They have a wonderful business sense that is oriented around trust.

Liked: Guys! If you choosed wake up hostel you just couldn't do better!! The hostel is clean well located but most of all the stuff exceptional! friendly, funny always offers an advice.the early pick up was very good help for us as it was our 1st time to visit Egypt and have no idea about anything! thanks for everyone..

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at Wake up Hostel. The staff ıs very kınd and helped us wıth great attentıon for all our actıvıtıes (pyramıds vısıt - Alexandrıa vısıt - Cruıse ın Aswan and Luxor even wıth the dıffıcultıes wıth the transportatıon at the moment). Warm thanks to Yasser - Moustafa - Heıdı - and others. Our drıver Mohamed was excellent drıver wıth the drıvıng condıtıons and so very nıce person ! We came agaın for a second stay after our cruıse. We thınk ıts a good place to stay at a reasonnable prıce.

Disliked: The comments on the buıldıng and the elevator are true. It seem a lıttle scary at the buıgınnıg but at the hotel - don´t worry - ıt´s OK. Sometımes the receptıon or the lıvıng room can be a lıttle noısy when people enter at nıght. For the team - We dıd not apprecıate the ınsıstance wıth the ratıng at the end of our stay. If custumers are sattısfıed they wıll do good ratıng. Please be carrefull wıth that poınt. Honestly thıs ratıng ıs what we thınk. It ıs not done wıth pressure even ıf the team ınsıst a lot. We want to be honest wıth the other custumers. It ıs a good place to stay. We keep a very good memorıes from our great vacatıons ın Egypt and you make ıt hapen !

Liked: The location is close to the museum and other sights which is handy just to walk to and get a feel of the city.

Disliked: Not as clean as hoped. Maintenance needed in rooms and common areas. There where always friends of workers always around so got crowded in the common areas. Also the area for leaving luggage was easily accessible for all the extra people hanging around so we did not feel comfortable using this option. The biggest problem we had been with the ‘free pyramids tour’. The driver they organised us took us to his friends shops and places we didn't want to go even though we said specifically what we wanted to do. In the end we ran short of time to do what we wanted to do at the Pyramids of Giza and missed out on being able to go in and see the Sphinx and other attractions. We mentioned this to the staff at the hostel regarding our disappointment but ….. We had also arranged with a staff member that we could switch one of the 3 nights we’d paid to come back in a couple of weeks on the night before we flew out. When another staff member was on they informed us that we could not transfer the prepaid night, and the owner said if we wanted to reserve a room at the hostel we would have to agree to give the hostel 100% rating before we could come back. Obviously we did not take this option and found an alternative. Having used hostelbookers a lot over the years it is disappointing that the rating of this hostel can be so far wrong!!

Liked: When we booked this hostel,we were not sure about the high rate they have but once we got in we knew that they deserve it! was very friendly atmosphere and we were invited to house music party! We booked with them the trip to baharyia oasis which was PERFECT!we enjoyed the BBQ desert party with some other Canadian group..it's the best choice to be there when u r in Cairo.
